I can't believe that there are people who are satisfied with Wholesale Travel! I agree with other posters that they must be employees. I called them in June to book a "weekend getaway" trip in December. Their so called "weekend getaways". LIES, LIES, LIES! I sent over 20 e-mails and called over 50 times since June. They charged my credit card for the non-refundable airfare (twice what I would have paid if I had booked it myself through Southwest Airlines). They never booked the hotel or gave me the Broadway tickets they promised. SCAM, SCAM, SCAM!!!! They stopped returning my calls in October. Since October, I have left messages and sent e-mails, to no avail. Now I am stuck with non-refundable airline tickets and can't afford the hotel and Broadway tickets they were supposed to provide for no additional charge. They told me in the sales pitch that the weekend getaways were $199 per person and I just needed to give them proper time to schedule the "getaway". Don't you think calling them in June for a "getaway" in December is proper time notification?
Have you tried to get your money back, given up and taken the loss, or used the company sense? We sure could use your help. If you got your money back, how did you go about it?

They recently hired a new company to handle reservations for them. We booked The Palm Aire in Pompano through them. We got much better service this time. Also, the price was significantly better than I was able to get through other agencies. We told them we would not pay this year's membership dues until we had a satisfactory booking experience. Maybe this is why we had good service on this one. I don't know.

Have you tried to get your money back? We've had the same problems as you and are having no success with the new company. I'm curious if you got a refund of your membership and if you did, how?

My wife and I attended this worst sales pitch for a vacation savings last night! thank god I did not sign up for this! I would never give any money to anyone without a investigation of this companies credentials, wich by the way was never on the BBB list as accredited

We purchased membership to this company in Feb.'10. We have had nothing but customer services issues but most importantly, we've seen none of the savings promised during the sales presentation. We asked for a refund and were told to use the new fulfillment company and if we had the same customer service issues, they would "consider" giving us a refund in a year. They said that if we didn't like that, we could take them to court. Wow! What a way to stand by your product! So, we've tried the new fulfillment company. Seriously, I can save more at the grocery store than they are going to save us on vacation. If you've had the same problems and are a member of Facebook, search for "Wholesale Travel Connection is a scam" and click "like". Share your experience. Hopefully, others can learn a lesson from our mistakes.

we signed under duress with wholesale travel connection and tried to cancel the next day and they said no rescission. we signed when the lights were dimmed and and they were getting ready to go home. they told us just to sign where they put red marks and it would be ok. nothing was said about no rescission and they asked us to just initial where circled thats all. they coerced us to do all this and now we are stuck with this contract.

I agree with all of the negative comments about this company. We also were "tricked" at the Welcome Center, thinking it was a legitimate tourist center and we attended the presentation. It is partially my fault that we signed up in the first place, but due to a storm that caused the cancellation of the initial presentation, they sweetened the pot and we attended the next day. It seemed like great savings as they gave us a cheaper quote on a trip we were planning and had priced out. However, since signing up, we have been unable to book anything with them! They just refused to call back despite numerous calls. Their web site uses the same sites you can book yourself and get the same or better prices as they list. The air fares, hotels, etc. are the same, or in some cases more expensive than I find. The new Dining Option with the new company is laughable as I already belong to Restaurant.Com and can buy the coupons at 80%, not 50% off as they offer on the web site. After we purchased the plan and I realized it looked like a timeshare scam, I looked on the Better Business site and at the time they had an A- rating, so I figured that Better Business must be in their pocket. Has anyone successfully gotten their initial money back?

It amazes me that anyone can post things on the internet and others take it as the gospel truth. Case in point my name here! Some of the comments posted on here could be deemed criminal libel. I bet most of you are competitors of this company or people who lied to get into a presentation you had to be "qualified" to attend!

Everything that is being said is true and you know it. It amazes me that employees of the company can live with themselves.

The only thing "qualified" means is "do you have a credit card"! They can conviently put your membership on your credit card. Avoid these people!!!!

You should all be sued for malicious libel! Most of you are complaining about your "free gift". Come on people! If you go to a car dealership for a "free test drive" do they give you a Mercedes? If you have issues with the service contact a company representative who can help you resolve your issues otherwise quit bashing the company and the sales people! So much of what is posted on here is total nonsense and completely untrue!

This company left a very bad taste in my mouth. We stopped at a place called the "Welcome Centre" just outside of Charleston thinking it was a city welcome centre. We stopped for a map. Instead, we were subject to a twenty minute sales pitch and offered free carriage rides, ghost tours and plantation admittance. All we had to do was show up for an hour's talk on how to save money on travel. We reluctantly signed up but then had to give them $20 to "reserve" our place and guarantee our attendance. I tried to back out but got pressured some more and agreed to come. After we got out, I got madder and madder. It would have meant wasting half our morning, driving into downtown Charleston, paying for parking etc. for a one hour sales pitch to buy a membership like Costco. I walked and just left them with our $20. I couldn't believe it. If they had named their roadside stop as the Wholesale Travel Connection Welcome Centre, we would never have stopped. Obviously this was deliberately set up to entrap innocent tourists. I intend to write to the Charleston Chamber of Commerce.
It's an invitation Not a subpeona! No one forced you to give them $20. This is so ridiculous!

I got an offer for a new laptop computer for sitting through an hour long sales pitch. Anyone have any positive comments about this? Do they really honor this gift with no obligation to buy?

We didn't get that offer. Ours was for two nights in Charleston. Whatever you do, just don't buy the membership. If it comes to that, save your money and go buy your own laptop.

Is there some other kind of libel?

You are not obligated to purchase anything EVER! A car, a lawnmower, a gym membership, Girl Scout cookies, or a superb and useful travel program, but you folks do. If you won't attend a presentation with an open mind and make your own informed choice based on your own intellect, not the rants of folks you don't even know, then do everyone, including yourself, a huge favor and stay home! Buy your own cruise, your own laptop, your own carriage rides and quit bitching and complaining about your "free stuff".
This will be my last post. I am unsubscribing, since this is the same dribble day after day. Get a life, use your membership and take a vacation! You all sound like you need it! LOL!

BEWARE of these scam artists. They use this name and Wholesale Travel Escapes but are criminals and frauds. Google the mane Wholesale Travel Connection and you'll find they had an F rating from the Better Business Bureau and had their accredidtion revoked. They have more than 50 former member complaints pending in the past 36 months and many have appealed to the Attorney General. Stay away from this company

While it is true I am not required to buy a car or lawn mower, it is equally true that if I pay someone for a car or lawn mower they are legally obligated to provide it to me. This is the problem with Wholesale Travel. They made promises that did not materialize. In the last few months they have contracted with a new call center that does a much better job responding to requests for reservations. I am not sure the prices are as good as we had been led to believe but the service is markedly better. That being said, the people at Wholesale Travel should quit being in denial and apologize for what happened in the past. If the service is good going forward and is what they promised I will be the first to send them customers. I need proof first.
