Citizens go by city hall and look at the $15000 gardening job.

This is a shame to spend this much money with an out of town business in the front yard of city hall.

Everyone of you counsel members should be ashamed

If you have a problem with what the city does why not tell them instead of running your mouth to topix?

It irritates me that you have a problem with something and instead of tryna go to the city and telling them what you have a problem with and how you think it can be fixed you run your mouth to topix about thinking somebody will magically fix your problems

I personally don't have an issue with it. If I lived in town I would.

However the employees make a very small salary and to see the city put $15000 in the front yard is a slap in the face.

Bump city employees salary or plant $15000 work of flowers . Need I say more.

Don't worry I have and will again voice my opinion to the city.

Well in opinion if the front of city hall or the courthouse looked like crap that would say alot on charleston behalf just by lookin at that so it might take alot of money to make it look good

And if you don't live in town why should this matter to you?? Obviously it doesn't bother anybody else that actually lives in town nor does it seem to matter to the employees of the city maybe they enjoy that the city takes care of the front of the hall instead of letting it go to trash

Look I am sure that if you ask the employees new $15000 front yard or small raise. I bet they choose the raise.

And by the way they can plant $100,000 worth of stuff and those under paid employees are gonna have to take care of if.

And they should have used a business in the county.

City manager just said in the paper try to combine purchasing with ep, and the county, to save money.now he goes and spend $15000 in Scott county.

Could have spent the money here in the county.

Azalea Festival is coming up. The town will look so pretty. Charleston-- the home of beautiful yards, homes, and parks. We live in a wonderful little town of quaint shops. We have churches and schools we can be very proud of. Our own little Mayberry RFD.

Good grief! What a fantasy world you're living in--open your eyes and look at the real situation. Charleston has been going down hill for over twenty-five years! Yes, a few people have able to maintain beautiful old homes with yards to match, yet there are few jobs to keep the younger generation in the community. I'm not trying to be negative--just realistic. Charleston is the sad picture of decay and it is so frustrating. Charleston can't even compare to Mayberry RFD. I'm an avid gardener and realize the cost involved--too much was spent and too much was spent for what is displayed. Beautification can be had at a far more resonable cost. Funding should have been in the direction of economic growth. Grow the future of the next generation with decent paying jobs.
