I keep asking myself that. I drove though this little town and it was just sad. A friend om and real pretty woman asked me to come take a look. I can very easily forget this town right now. But I when to school there long ago and far far far away in a distance time. It was a nice plce at the time this Jeanerette, La. But now its a sad little town with sad little people in it. I was so happy to have left this place and ever to come back. My friend still lives there. She seems to like it, why I don't know. Why would anyone want to live in this town. Please explain this to me?

I have girl friend who moved to New Iberia and it was kind of a cute little place. The funny thing was that it was about 10 miles from Jeanerette. That was one little depressing place. It seem to be a little town that someone threw up on. It had nothing special about it. I was told there was alot of drug use in that little town. The people there seem very uninformed. A funny little place.

well jeanerette is home to many, that can't afford to leave, it is not a good place to raise your kids, i'm sorry to say, i have 3 kids, there isn't much for the kids to do there, no wonder so many of them is hitting the streets, my son played football for j-high, got in trouble at 17, noone from the school picked up a hand to help me or him, my child is still incarcerated, & i have noone to turn to, iberia parish laws are unfair, if i had it to do all over again, i would NEVER raise my kids in iberia parish. 1 strike & you're out, for my son

The problem with the schools is that Jeanerette's uniqueness cannot be embraced by the "out-of-town" teachers that resign to come there to teach....Ironically you will find that Jeanerette Elem. and St. Charles are doing well at providing an accurate education for those kids....I too left long ago and still have family there. I actually tried to return to live, but the silliness and childishness of the folks there was too much for me. I applaude those that muster through Verret's, Falterman's, Bouorgeois, and the rest of the screwed up politics powers that be...and dont forget, the and messy gossiping womwen and MEN.....Anyway, My childhood could have been no better than it was in J-town and I appreciate it for that and that alone.....

It's the good ole boy system that is rotting it to death. No job industry, our ppl sold themselves for a seat and still can't make decisions on their own. The whole town is divided with race card and our color hating on each other. Another reason that twn requires no college education to be in highly political seats making decisions for everyone. I admit it has fallen tremendously to crime, drugs and industry but it is still home to many that has left to seek better opportunities and there are certainly still good ppl and family living there. It will always be called home. Hopefully one day it will rise to attract new leadership.

Becuz that town hasn't always been such a bad place to live and there r still good ppl in that town. It is now lacking good leadership to bring about all areas of growth. Did u have a bad experience when u visited? If so, sorry u had to encounter the negative which can come from any territory that u visit.

Well ya'll think Jeanerette is bad try Baldwin. At least the chief in Jeanerette is not crooked like the chief in Baldwin. I heard the chief in Baldwin lets the drug dealers run the city. There is cases that has not been solved because the chief doesn't care. I don't think Jeanerette has anything on Baldwin.

Anyone that goes by strictly what they hear goggles with a small mind. Hear say is a loser without concrete evident and one bad apple will spread rotten just like one bad experience can spread rumors. FYI, the latest sting in Jeanerette is the mayor don't won't the cops stopping ppl for speeding and issuing out tickets. Now I would feel like a ding dong if I went out spreading something like that. Do u think that I believe this? Hell no man, for one must think outside the box when rumors spread like this. There will always be a motive for coming up with something like this and u can best believe there will be those who listen and run with it, and do u know why? Becuz it attracts negative attention and they don't cut for the one they r bad mouthing. Think brother! U go and try to see if u will make it out of one of these situations we r disputing abt and see if u don't have something to say differently, if not negative. All of this stuff said, one will have to prove and I bet he can't on the WORD OF MOUTH. Peace!
