I wish God hadn't been removed from schools. I grew up being taught that there was always someone watching me. That no matter what I did, at some point justice would be served. Classmates who weren't taught that at home learned it at school. The liberals have almost reached their goal of destroying America.

Totally agree, Hollywood has dramatized shootings to we're so de-sensitized to taking lives, it has become a fantasy come true So sorry for the victims and all the families and students and teachers This earth is in such turmoil and pain, the entire world in total chaos

I will not defend resorting to violence as a rule but truthfully; students don't normally go around shooting their classmates. The student made a terrible decision to commit a horrible crime and must face justice. Still yet, at some point prior to this event, this student may have been a much better person than the alleged victims. Once again, not defending his actions.

Bullying. When are people going to realize that a person can only be pushed so far before they snap? Stop the bullying. End the abuse these kids are forced to endure and the violence will stop. hurting with you wrote: <quoted text>And what would you think a "GOOD REASON" would be....

I, too, was bullied. And, yes, it made me a stronger person. It also made me more empathetic to what others are going through. There is no excuse for what he did... I am not condoning it. However, I can see that maybe, just maybe, he convinced himself that it WAS self-defense. There are a thousand sides to every story. Before I condemn him as a monster, I'd like to hear his. no excuse wrote: <quoted text>No excuse, I was a victim of bullying...from 5th grade until 12th grade

Kevin wrote: <quoted text> Before you judge the shooter perhaps there was a good reason for what he did. There is no GOOD reason for anyone shooting anyone unless one's life is in danger.....I don't think this was the reason.....and if had shot your child would you think the same.

I hope the 2 that are still in critical condition hang in there and pull threw. The one that is stable in hospital, glad to hear. The 6th just got grazed on the ear but glad he is ok. Glad that his cousin was not in the cafe at that time. He usually is thank god he had to go to the bathroom and when in the bathroom all this happen. Please pray for all those involved and to those in Chardon, Ohio

If it is true this kid wrote the morbid paper in school, I would be outraged as a parent if the school didn't put this kid on some kind of watch. If it is true his home life was chaotic, abusive and his dad was in jail for attempted murder, where in the heck was his school counselor in all of this? I was a little sickened by the superintendent who chose to advertise his school's emergency preparedness at the most inappropriate time. I have to wonder why this student wasn't under some kind of watch especially if he was bullied. Come on, if a kid attends school and is getting bullied, where are the teachers? Students should also take responsibility and report texts and conversations about bringing a gun to school. Parents should be outraged this student was able to walk in the school with a gun in the first place. The football coach was a true hero for putting his life on the line...even when being shot at. His bravery most likely saved many lives.

Kevin wrote: <quoted text> Before you judge the shooter perhaps there was a good reason for what he did. Never a reason for a senseless shooting. I too was bullied, but as time went on I learned to take cre of myself without violence. I was taught at home and school that Yes, Jesus loves me, and this has always got me over the hard bumps in the road. Pray for the families, and even the shooter's family. They must be devastated.

hurting with you wrote: <quoted text> And what would you think a "GOOD REASON" would be.... Would it be the same if it were your child you were making funeral arrangements for? If there is any truth to the bullying story then who really cares what the parents of what amounts to informal gang members think or feel? Again, if true, they should feel shame for raising little psychopaths and guilt for failing to raise responsible citizens. Why are we as a people so reluctant to face the reality that one reaps what he sows? If true it would seem they are a fine lesson about the the potential consequences of acting like a psychopath towards one you think is helpless. Fortunately we will get to hear what drove him to it. If it was bullying I hope those parents are consumed by the realization that their little psychopath got exactly what he deserved.

We need LESS religion. Abortion clinic bombers, the KKK, and Bin Laden have all had a steady diet of religion and look where it got us.
