I find it sadly amusing that these poor, poor, put-upon people that only sought to deny full rights to their fellow citizens are feeling so persecuted. Boo-hoo. And for this woman who made her living off of gays to actively support their oppression and then whine that people were trying to suppress HER artistic freedom is the height of hypocrisy. I thought her style was cheesy anyway. Good riddance to her.

Those that purchase her gay-themed work were most likely members of the GLBT community.
So her $1000 was in effect money that came from the very people whom she wants to deny equality too.

And she wonders why we are outraged at this?????

What a hypocrite ! And then she has the NERVE to call the people who honestly reported this story, NAZIS !

Typical hypocritical liberals.

They're typical response to anyone who disagrees with them is to call them a Nazi.

What a hypocritical, well I can't say it on Topix. To make money off of gay people and turn around and donate money to take away their rights is just downright disgusting. This woman is the worst kind of hypocrite a greedy one. I say any gay person who owns her art should burn it!!!!

And that tramp Maggie Gallagher defended her...

They get all upset when we get angry and decide NOT to spend our money with people who put money up against us. They can all go to their Hell.

FYI the lists of people who contributed to Prop 8 (pro and con) as well as Amendment 2 here in Florida are available from public records. http://jaysays.com/the-shame-list/
lists the people who made contributions in Florida.

"Sunshine laws" are on the books for a VERY good reason.

Isn't it strange that these organizations say it's unfair of us to boycott donors to Prop 8, when they organize boycott after boycott themselves?

Now if I owned one of her paintings, I could not look at it without being reminded of all the discrimination over all the centuries. It would have to come off the wall and probably be burned. Could I even imagine buying art from someone like that? Never!

Dan, I'm not sure where the reference to "hypocritical liberals" came from. It seems to have caused may to understand your post differently than I did.

If owners of her artwork were to destroy her pieces, I hope they videotape it and post it on youtube. Let her feel the anguish of seeing her creations destroyed, just as she has made us feel about her contribution to the destruction of our civil rights.

Great - my parents' church, Beaches Chapel, is on here. Just the other day my mother was saying how she hopes I'd go to her church someday. This should be an interesting conversation when it comes up.

Click on post 13 and send her an email. The email is at the bottom of the page. I told her that I hope the $1000 was worth it.
