The council put an older citizen in jail tonight becaause he chose to stand up for himself by speaking his mind. See the council let McDevitt distroy the road leading to the citizen's home and all the other homes behind Pizza Hutt.
Ain't they great!! U guys we should vote all of them in again, they really do have our best interest at heart!! Right?? Just like Cancer & AIDS.

THEY TOOK AWAY HIS FIRST AMENDMENT RIGHT TO FREEDOM OF SPEACH AND AS FAR AS I KNOW THERE IS NO LAW AGAINST STANDING UP. ALL THE COUNCIL AND PRICE JUST HUNG THERE HEADS IN SHAME.THEY REALLY ARE PITAFULL. I CANT WAIT TO SEE THEM GO!!!!!

WELL I HOPE SEEING THE WAY THAT THEY TREAT OUR CITIZENS OPENS EVERY ONES EYES TO THERE INCAPABILITIES AS OUR DECISION MAKERS. THEY ONLY ARRESTED MR. MEADE BECAUSE HE WAS SPEAKING THE TRUTH , AND THEY KNOW THE TRUTH WILL CAUSE THEM THE ELECTION. MR.MEADE DID NOT BRAKE ANY LAWS UNLESS ASKING FOR HELP WITH A THREE YEAR LONG PROBLEM IS AGAINST THE LAW. HE WAS JUST UPSET THAT NOBODY ON THE COUNCIL WAS TRYING TO HELP. EVERYONE NEEDS TO REMEMBER THAT IT MIGHT BE THEM NEXT IF THEY DONT TAKE ACTION AND ELECT PEOPLE THAT ARE CAPIBLE OF DOING THE JOB. THEY DONT CARE ABOUT US CITIZENS, THEY ONLY CARE ABOUT THE POWER!!!!

I too was there last night when I seen that the man was asking for some help when the attourney was trying to explain and the man kept interrupting the lawyer, and it was explained and explained to the citizensthat the city has went as far as they could that it was up to the state and the citizens didnt want to hear that it was told to the citizens that it would be them that has to sue the contractor and the physician but they didnt want to hear that they just wanted to blame the town council and the mayor, what I had seen is that the policeman was just trying to keep order in a public meeting, the resident was upset but the resident when asked to sit down that his point was taken it was then that he had gotten out of hand, so if you want to blame it on the city admin for this gentlemans actions then go ahead,

I don't live in the town of Chapmanville but after reading all this is seems to me that they could have said "ok we'll check into this and see what can be done to help you" instead of saying we went as far as we could so sit down and shut up. I can't blame the citizen for being mad with having his road destroyed. The road is in the town of Chapmanville so they should help get it fixed..Also wouldn't they have had to give Dr. McDevitt a permit to build the wall in the beginning... so to me they are just as responsible for giving approval....Just my opinion.

Did the city not issue a permit for the work to be done behind McDevitts office? Does the contractor that perfomed the work not have any kind of bond insurace for situations like this? I would think the property owner (McDevitt) and the contractor (whoever they are) should have liens atttached to there property and business's until this matter is resolved. The City on the other hand should be supporting the residents that this effects by pushing for this mess to be cleaned up and resolved and to prevent this from ever happening again. Our local government seems like they are letting our town slip away by not enforcing laws and ordinance that we have had in place for years to prevent such problems.

YES THEY DID ISSUE A PERMIT FOR THE WORK ALTHOUGH THEY HAD NO RIGHT. THE STATE TOLD THE TOWN THAT THEY HAD NO RIGHT TO ISSUE SUCH A PERMIT WITHOUT A CIVIL ENGINER ON THE TOWNS PAYROLL. SINCE THE TOWN DOESNT HAVE A CIVIL ENGINER THEY HAD NO RIGHT. THEY ALSO SHOULD HAVE LIABILITY FOR PERMITS BUT THEY CLAIM THEY DO NOT HAVE WHICH IS ANOTHER REASON THEY SHOULD NOT BE ISSUEING SUCH PERMITS. THEY JUST SIMPLY DONT KNOW THE LAW OR WHAT THEY ARE DOING.

the town has numerous times told the residents that they would check into it and see what they can do to help these residents, they never told him to shut up and sit down they just told him to go ahead and sit back down

the permit issue has been going on since Joy Vance was in office, and I guess you would know the laws on ANY and ALL legal issues?

Paul Meade is one of the very best people i have ever met. He tries to help everyone he can. This stuff shouldnt have happened in the first place. Makes you wonder who Dr. McDevitt paid off just so he could get his bigger parking area to get more patients to get more money.

It sure does make you think, cause we all know growing up in Logan County that gears need to be greased from time to time and the drug pushing Dr McDevitt had plenty of money to grease thoes wheels which he obtained through the transfer of high powered pain pills and high powered nerve medication which he gave out in exchange for money by patients. All of this makes me wonder about the GREAT MAYOR PRICE's words that said all "Legal" deugs were now banned in the town he said this in a statement that critized these legal drugs talking about how these legal drugs are an epidemic, does it make you wonder? Why did a mayor concerned about a drug usage problem in his town defend a known drug pushing Dr. and not only that he also allowed the Dr to operate within city limits without concequences for a long time like 5 or 6 years, oh and by the way just so you know, We Are A Government For The People By The People NEVER FORGET THAT, because it means we the people run things round here. VOTE THE WHOLE BUNCH OUT!!!!!!!!

for first fo all I never seen where he "the mayor" defended the Dr. as far ah him letting the Dr. operate in his town for years well when the feds are investigating someone then NO ONE can interfere with their investigation and the town just cant kick someone out of their town or close their practice down just because they know they are doing business like he was doing he can be removed or his business shut down once he is arrested or the feds come and shut him down, and as far as we the people run things around here we DON'T run things around here politics does and has ran things for years and will continue to run things, it shouldnt be that way but it is. EVERY election whether it be a city election or the BIG election EVERYONE says we need a change so vote this person in, but in all reality when they do it doesnt get any better it gets worse.

Of course they took up for him. He's a voter after all. All any of them care about is the status quo. I bet none have the balls to actually take a drive on that Great Wall of Chapmanville because they know they're taking their life into their own hands. Good enough for our citizens but not good enough for them. Out with each and every one of them IMO.
