I was speaking to a man this past Friday who told me a boss at Coal River was either suspended or fired for falsifying inspections or something along that line. I was really surprised because this mine has always had a good reputation. Any truth to this?

My husband works there but hasn't said anything like that happening. Some of those guys are mad cause if they miss during the week they have to make it up on the weekends. So unless you was there to witness it I would not believe it. You know how people get when they don't get their own way!

You are right Coal River does have a wonderful reputation with their men. I mean the owner would give you the last $100 in his wallet if it would help you or your family. I know first hand what a wonderful company this is and my husband would stay there even if he got a pay cut. They are just super super people. They actually care about you and your family. My husband has worked in the mines 10 years and absolutely loves loves his job there.

you are so right about that company, just look how much those other mines make their men pay for insurance and can only use certain doctors. My husband says he will be there til he retires or they shut it down. My husband said the same thing he would rather take a cut in pay than have to work for another mines. Way awsome comapany to work for.

You have to go to Regional Mines Services and speak to Gene Breniger (i'm not sure if I spelled his last name right) Sorry!! Thats where you start and after you work through that contractor and you show up for work and no drugs are in your system after 90 days or so you could be hired into the company. Regional Mine Service is the right exit before you turn left towards Delbarton. Hope this helps.

I heard the guy who got fired was a third shift boss named Chris..not sure of the last name, but his wife's name is Kim, she was a Collins by birth (from Dingess)and was also married to a Browning at one time. She was in a really bad car accident right at the same time he supposedly got fired. He seemed like a nice man, I heard he might have took the fall for someone else...of course, you hear everything. I hear it's the cream of the crops where mines are concerned.

Are you talking about Chris Copley from Dingess? I don't think he got fired he just quit. He wouldn't ever come to work anyways.

Sounds like quiting a mines as good as this one would be a very stupid thing to do, especially in today's economy. If his wife was in an accident looks like he would be needing to keep his health insurance. I'd say there was more to it than that, I'd say if he's not there anymore it wasn't by his choice.

Folks, Coal River Energy is not a Massey mine!!!!!! I assure you on that one. They do have good benefits to their families. People say things all the time and right now with the UBB mine disaster your liable to hear anything. I haven't heard why the man was fired/quit but as soon as I do I will post on here and let you guys know.

well my husband is involved in the hiring and firing there and he really did quit but he knew that he was going to get fired anyways. Yeah they have 100% insurance and you would think he would want to keep that.
