I am a patient of this doctor and recently have heard some unsettling stories that concern me. I was wondering if there are any other patients of Dr. Hockman & their thoughts/ experiences with her.

Thank you.

I too have heard the stories/rumors about her. However, my daughter is a patient of Dr. Hockman's and she was very professional and had an excellent bedside manner. Her staff was professional and courteous, as well. I hope the rumors turn out to be just that, as I would refer any friend or family member to Dr. Hockman!!

I looked on the internet and found out a few things about Dr. Sheila Hockman. The Medical Examining Board accepted the surrender of her license for allegations that she failed to perform various surgical procedures to correct urinary difficulties in three patients, and to promptly and postoperative complications following these procedures. It was in Hardeeville, SC She may have a good bedside manner, but it sometimes isn't enough!! I do agree, she was very nice and respectful to me. I just want to find out some more information about her before i let her deliver my precious child into this world! Do you agree???

I've heard nothing but good things, but if these things worry you & you have urinary problems see a urologist. While many gynecologists perform urinary procedures, I personally would prefer a urologist.

She delivered my son and it was an absolute monstrosity.
She acted like she was in the biggest rush ever and didnt want t be there.
I was only in labor for three hours when she arrived.
As soon as she got there she started me on a pitocin drip to speed up my labor.
Within two hours my son was here, yes she did not show up into the delivery room until he was literally coming out.
The nurses made me wait until they got her from reading her magazine at the nurses station until I was able to get him all the way out.
His little head had a crease in it for a week because they made me wait to push him all the way out.
She didn't sew me area up or leave me any medication for pain.
I wasnt offered anything and had him naturally.

DO NOT RECOMMEND HER.
Thank you for Info

Thank you for telling me this, because she said that I would have to have a C-section and I am so afraid she wouldn't put things back the way they are supposed to be or not sew me up right. There's alot of things that could go wrong if someone doesn't do it right! You could have problems the rest of your life, because of a careless doctor not wanting to be there and do there job! Read up on the internet about her loosing her license and why she lost it. I couldn't believe it!! Thank You for info!

Dr. Hockman had an unusually high # of surgical complications while practicing in Wisconsin, lost her license to practice in that state and then moved to S.C. and then W.V. It is NOT easy for a doctor to lose a license. Trust me, it is serious.
All the while she had a cocky attitude.
Don't assume she's a good doctor just because she's a woman and sometimes seems nice.

My daughter has seen Dr Hockman and we both really like her except for her staff. I have never been treated so bad in my life. They are very rude and unprofessional. Tara stays on myspace all day instead of doing her job and Renee the nurse is very very rude. The receptionist lies so much that it's unreal. It's a joke of an office if you ask me..

I personally Love Dr. Hockman, and completely trust her ability as a surgeon. I have been to numerous surgeons for pelvic prolapse,(all males). They never have fixed me correctly; and left me still incontinent. My Former OB-GYN from Charleston who delivered all of my children did not sew up my episiotomy right, he only sewed the outer layer of tissue; this left my pelvic floor in complete lapse of any tone what so ever. I had surgery in January at Morgantown by The head of OB- GYN services, who incidentally was a professor of urogynecology services who taught at WVU at the time. This surgery was a complete failure. Dr. Hockman repeated my repair in July, only after thinking long and hard about whether or not she could help me. She said she would try her best and pointed out things that she saw I could benefit from. She did an excellent job; Is completely professional, No one in her office has ever been rude to me, I have never been repaired so well and am so greatfull for her. My husband even wanted to send her a thank you card.! Medicine is not perfect. IF you want complete healing, you need to trust Jesus Christ the son of the Living God.

Just because you see a urologist, does not indicate that they know how to the complex vaginal prolapse symptoms that ofter occur with incontinence; I had surgery at Cleveland Clinic in Ohio, by the Head of Urology, who ploaced a sling in me to hold up my bladder and prevent incontinence, he did nothing to fix the vaginal prolapsing, he said go see a gyn, after telling me he could fix me. He actually made my incontinence worse.
