I work for Blixt Construction. I volunteered many hours to the Extreme Makeover. I worked most of the time in the evenings and very early mornings. I didn't do it to be on the show, and I wasn't. Blixt Construction did not make any money off of the Extreme Makeover, it was all donated, time and materials.
The Tutwilers never were a good fit in the community. They didn't really try to participate in any community activities, so they never really bonded with their neighbors. If they wish to leave, that is ok with me. I wouldn't want them to feel obligated to stay somewhere they don't want to be. I don't know who the people are that are giving them a hard time. Nobody I have talked to is hateful towards the Tutwilers.
The entire Extreme Makeover scenario was a hassle. People were just trying to help a military family in need and it got all blowed out of proportion and feelings were hurt.
It will be good when this all blows over.
Awesome analysis of the situation. Thank you.

I really think that this story is about just a handful of people giving the Tutwilers a hard time. I don't think anyone intended to run them out of town, but shame on anyone who started and spread the rumors about them. Most people in Chapman are very friendly, my wife and I have really enjoyed living here the past 13 years.

Chapter Two of the story would be about the greed, selfishness and lack of thanks to the community that helped them so much.

In the situation, I would hope that I would have the personal integrity to pass on as donation, that which was donated to me.
