CHES crossing guard / hit and run / broken arm, really?

Did someone hit the sweet crossing guard at the elem. school? Were they blind?

Yes, I read in the paper that the driver was over 95% blind. He could tell the difference between night and day, but that was about it.

Here's a quote from the article I read..
