Once again The Herald News and the CHannahon police dept. lied, lied, lied! I quit the paper in 2005 when my friends son was murdered and the pissy reporter who didnt have a seat in the courtroom was mad so instead of making the victims family give her a seat the judge told her to stand. She used her words in the paper for revenge and was extremely biased and was slanting the articles towards the killers side. Thank God for juries because the killer got 40+ years behind bars! Now they are at it again. It is my understanding that Mr. Wood turned himself in several hours after this man walked right into the path of the vehicle. The police acted all this time like they didnt know who it was or they were looking for the "person of interest" etc and their "hard work and physical evidence" finally paid off blah, blah, blah,WHAT A CROCK!Then the paper reports in big headlines FATAL hit and run etc...wrong again Herald News. The man not only didnt die,he has been rehabbed as much as possible because he was already disabled from walking into other peoples cars which I also understand he is back to doing now, walking the streets. The people of Channahon needs to be aware of this because they to will all of a sudden be a criminal if they hit someone who walks into their path while driving.Yes Mr. Wood should have called 911 or stopped but he panicked and I for one do not know what I would have done in that position if it were me. I think I would stop but in a flash something can happen and panic and shock set in and well,we just dont know. Then knowing the holiday was the next day the police wait almost 4 mos. to arrest this man and then have it hit the papers on Thanksgiving never giving any thought to his family and children and reported the wrong address etc.Its just plain sad that the police would act this way towards someone who turned themself in within hours of the accident and even sadder that the Herald News would not check their facts better and know what they were printing before doing it for greed and money and what sells best instead of the real facts. This is even starting me to think maybe people like Drew Peterson whom everyone dislikes and thinks murdered his wife or wives....may be innocent afterall. ITs all in how the media and cops slant things it seems. Joliet Herald News and Channahon police equals LIARS! It seems Will CO. does try all the people in the paper first....GUILTY unless you can prove your innocent inspite of lieing newspapers and cops.

Its always easy for people to be judged by others when the media slants things their way or people only hear one side of the story. People with brains think for themselves, learn for themselves and seek out truth, other sides, etc and judge for themselves.
