Supervalu selling Utah stores

Supervalu said today it is selling 36 Albertsons supermarkets in Utah, as the Eden Prairie-based supermarket giant retrenches in the teeth of a difficult economy, a large debt load and weakening consumer sales.

I'll bet you feel you should be paid a fair wage for your job also. How cheap is cheap enough? For cheap-skates like yourself, free wouldn't be enough. Maybe stores should pay you to shop there. I agree you will save money..but at what cost. your saving a few dollars now at the expense of others losing wages,insurance,and it does not stop there. feed your union run store and in turn the higher pay will allow those employees to spend more on the company you work for causing more job stability for yourself. And more money for your future.

there will always be money....and you have to spend money to make money...even those $$$ saved at aldi's

The national standard of living depends on enhancing skills and productivity, not on overpaying union members.

I agree Peter, however there is a limit to enhancing skills and productivity. And when talking about grocery stores their limits are pretty close to tapped out.

as for over paying union members. I agree and disagree. Most are not worth the extra pay or insurance.

And even though I am paid double the amount of most people in the grocery industry our splh compared to most supervalu stores is 4 times that amount. in this case overpaying union employees might be worth the change still
