Whose great idea was it to post their wedding dates? Rude, unnecessary and indicative of a real "dinky" town paper. With all that is going on in the world, you should have more important things to print.

Actually, I think that printing the divorce notice is rude, unnecessary, etc, much less their wedding dates. The parties will notify those who they think need to know that information; otherwise, it's nobody's business!

Here's another one - publishing hospital admissions. Sounds nice on the surface - perhaps a friend will become aware of your admission and visit - but it also sets you up for a burglary.

It might be a public record but who cares, unless you're someone who preys on others peoples misfortune. PO you've gone too far. this isn't a matter of public safety like the police log or sentencing's, etc.

This is just an intrusion on private lives. Why not go the whole way and publish the family courts records in it's entirety.

Uh, you guys...they've been doing that for a very long time.

I like reading the dates.(I have know idea who any of the people are.) Makes me feel good that I've been married as long as I have. Plus it always cracks me up when people are divorcing the same year that they marry!

If you want more fun...check over on the "Marrigae License" section. Often times you'll see names that were in the "Divorce" section marrying someone else.

Paper's around the country have been doing this for decades. The PO really isn't doing any harm. Especially when there's people like me who have no idea who any of them are in the first place.

What's next Dr's visits?
"The PO really isn't doing any harm. Anon Too said" -- How do you know that, when you don't know the people involved. Maybe the PO should have access and print all the information about the divorce too. Some things are meant to be private. Just because a divorce has to go through the court doesn't mean it's for the gossip aficionado.

Thou crusty batch of nature, as Shakespear would say.
Why would you consider it fun to look at someones misery? Hide not thy poison with such sugar'd words, for thou do delight as affable wolves, in the sorrows of others. Divorce is hurtful and painful here you sitbasking in it and taking delight and calling it fun in the name of anominity?
What does this say about our society? I would go on and describe this folish gib in detail, but the PO would most likely ban me.

"O Romeo, Romeo! wherefore art thou Romeo?"
Parting is such sweet sorrow.
Well, since we are on this subject matter, something that I feel is absolutely no ones business is the actual divorce decree! You can look up anyones divorce details:reason for divorce, income, debt, child visitation agreements, etc.
I just can't believe that this info is public knowledge. This is every couples very personal information! Because we get a divorce it is now everyone else's business?! I think America has issues with thinking it is everyones right to know everything going on in our lives and in our country. We all have enemies in our shadows just waiting for our weaknesses to be revealed...HEY JUST GO READ OUR NEWSPAPER!!!

Are you serious - divorce decrees are public information? Crap - that's way too much information available out there! I knew I should have just killed him.....

When will women complain about the following. Note how the man could have been married 10 times and we would never now but, unless a woman legally changes her name back after a divorce, we get to count how any times she has been married.

If you were to read: Shiela May Jones Smith McConehey Koontz Clay divorced Rudy Guiliani. What you you think?

Seems a little sexist to me.

I still wantto know what happens with the hyphonated senario: If Bill hughes-jones married Jennifer Smith-Kline - What do they become?
