Animal shelter gets help for move

I am also glad to see the donations go to organizations that really help the animals MWF...I have heard that there are some local animal rescues that don't always use the donation money (won't name any names but they are in Marion) for the good of the animals but rather to line their own pockets.

I know there are so many needs in a community, and I think it's wonderful how so many businesses are pitching in to help the shelter. I hope more follow.

I know there has been a lot of controversy over the school district giving away property but at least it is going to a good cause.

The animal shelter does the best it can with it's limited resources. I wish all pet owners would be more responsible and we would no longer need the shelter.

I have heard that alot of nasty stuff goes on between all of the rescues in the south end of town. Of course, I read most of that in the public opinion.

awayfromhome~I am not sure what goes on with the Marion animal rescues either as I no longer live in the Cburg area have just heard some rumors have the care of the animals and the use of the donations.

away~I've kind of heard the same thing. It's sad that these people can't work together. I guess it all comes down to money. They all need it and will eat each other to get the others donations.

I was just thinking, I don't remember the name of an individual as much as the stories about the fire at a rescue, a raid at a no~kill (LOL) shelter and then the stuff about the flood two years ago. All near and around the Marion.

The comments on the articles were what made it all memorable.

I can't recall the details either..I wish I could. If I wanted to donate money to local animal welfare..I think the CV Humane Society is the way to go though...seems like the other ones are run by whacks.

She'll be in the paper soon enough. It's spring and flooding is starting. I'm sure she needs donations by this point.

As I said, I'm not an animal nut, but I agree with CV as being probably the most credible way to go.
