"Holder urged "people in Congress" to be "a little mindful of the fact that there is an ongoing investigation and not reveal anything that might compromise our law enforcement investigation" or is more along the lines of not causing embarrassment just prior to the elections ?????

This has NOTHING to do about elections tactics for either side, PERIOD!

But it CRYSTAL FREAKIN CLEAR that there is a movement to stall and block access to this incident!

I've been following the hearings going on right now of the Benghazi attack and if you would do the same, you would agree!

There is a 50 minute tape from the Embassy and the State Dept turned it over to another govt agency for investigation in concerns it's premature release could harm the criminal investigation.

But yet, the investigating agency is NOT THE FBI, who is the SOLE INVESTIGATIVE AGENCY for this matter! Hmmmmmmmmm???

Thanks again! I appreciate your confirmation of your intellectual deficits. It takes a big man to admit that he's handicapped in that way.

The GOP controlled Congress denies funding for the State Department's Worldwide Security Protection Program, then attacks the administration when they don't have adequate resources to do their job.

Sounds exactly like the modern Republican party - undermine success then attack the President for failing.

----------

For fiscal 2013, the GOP-controlled House proposed spending $1.934 billion for the State Department’s Worldwide Security Protection program — well below the $2.15 billion requested by the Obama administration.

House Republicans cut the administration’s request for embassy security funding by $128 million in fiscal 2011 and $331 million in fiscal 2012.(Negotiations with the Democrat-controlled Senate restored about $88 million of the administration’s request.)

Last year, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton warned that Republicans’ proposed cuts to her department would be "detrimental to America’s national security" — a charge Republicans rejected.

Ryan, Issa and other House Republicans voted for an amendment in 2009 to cut $1.2 billion from State operations, including funds for 300 more diplomatic security positions.

Under Ryan’s budget, non-defense discretionary spending, which includes State Department funding, would be slashed nearly 20 percent in 2014, which would translate to more than $400 million in additional cuts to embassy security.

----------

Secretary Clinton warned them.

They ignored her.

Now they're attacking Clinton and the President for a failure they created.

Must be an election year.

Spot on answer Danny, spot on. Obamas administration is in control, failed to protect our citizens, then blame others for their failures. They never take responsibility Absolutely could not have said it better. Good job.

Thanks man! I appreciate your confirmation of my points.

It's a rare wingnut who will admit that everything the believe is pure bullshit and that we liberals always tell the unvarnished truth.

Keep the positive feedback coming. I really appreciate it!

Republican Representative tells CNN that the GOP "absolutely" cut funding for US embassy security...

----------

CNN Anchor Soledad O’Brien asks,“Is it true that you voted to cut the funding for embassy security?”

Chaffetz answers,“Absolutely. Look we have to make priorities and choices in this country. We have… 15,0000 contractors in Iraq. We have more than 6,000 contractors, a private army there, for President Obama, in Baghdad. And we’re talking about can we get two dozen or so people into Libya to help protect our forces. When you’re in touch economic times, you have to make difficult choices. You have to prioritize things.”

O’Brien responds,“Okay, so you’re prioritizing. So, when there are complaints that, in fact, that there was not enough security, you just said,‘absolutely,’ that you cut, you were the one to vote against to increase security for the State Department, which would lead directly to Benghazi. That seems like you’re saying you have a hand in the responsibility to this

So here's the history on Darrell Issa's witchhunts:

First, the Fast & Furious operation was presented to Issa for his review BEFORE it was implemented. He raised no objections.

Then Issa wasted millions of taxpayer dollars trying desperately to tie the President to the operation Issa himself approved.

Now, Issa's committee cut funding for US embassy security and then attacks the President for not adequately protecting our consulate in Libya.

There's a clear pattern here, folks - the GOP is deliberately sabotaging the administration then attacking the President for the results of that sabotage.

It's party before country every time with the GOP.

Danny, Danny, Danny. I'm disappointed it took you this long to try and spin this the GOP!

Yes, budgets were cut, but this is NOT a budget issue! THis is clearly an issue where the CURRENT ADMIN (NOT BUSH) REFUSED and IGNORED repeated requests for increased security!!

It's amazing that the politically appointed reps at the hearing are all spinning this away from what it is while the grunts are calling it what it is, a TOTAL FAILURE!!!

Rep Connolly-D said he and others were there in May 2012 at which time they witnessed an extremely VOLOTILE and dangerous environment where EVERYONE was armed, WITH LOTS of weapons!

But yet he then turns around and tries to spin it away from what it was!!

You have to watch and/ or listen, it's amazing how they're lying or not recalling or changing their earlier statements!!!

And once again Danny, security budgets may have been cut, but when faced with the threats as they were in Benghazi, on 09/11, that's a whole different issue and the resources are available for enhanced security!

"the resources are available"? How do you know that?

Congress cuts the budget, demanding that the administration do more with less - then when a tragedy happens they blame the administration for not doing enough. That's pure political bullshit, and you're swallowing it whole.
