Well now you know. I hope the man will be alright. This sort of thing will happen more and more as humans encroach on what I would call wilf life habits. We need to do more to protect wild life.

At 77 years young, the man should have known better. There are signs posted EVERYWHERE. And yes dear Buckeye's, there are gators as far north as North Carolina.

kill the gators. why do we insist on saying we need to protect the wildlife more? they are animals. protect humans! for god sakes people wake up, would you rather kill some animals when we encroach on their habitats? or let them kill us. we are the top of the food chain not them.

I know I was in Hilton Head last summer and there was an alligator living in the lake on the condo's property. No enclosure of any kind around it.

People should not judge other people if they don't know the WHOLE story. I have a personal interest in this story. Maybe he didn't see anything and like most golfers in Ohio, he just bent down to pick up his ball. I would also like to throw out here, that please remember he does have family and friends in the Cleveland area that care.

I go to Hilton Head, SC. I always see alligators on the banks sunning themselves, they are in the canals/waterways that run back in the island too. Lets put it this, if you were staying in a condo by a waterway, you definitely would not want to tie your dog in the yard or let it unattended.

We used to live in Savannah Ga, we had alligators in the ponds on the golf course. They never got anyone but a ten foot rattlesnake got a man who went after a ball in the rough. Golfers beware!!!! I will take Ohio over the South any day! I guess thats why we moved back.

According to Al Gore, with Global warming, we can look forward to those Gators becoming our neighbors here in Ohio... On a serious note. Those primitive animals known as North American fresh water alligators have been around about 250 million years give or take a few tens of millions.. Funny how such a primitive animal will probably survive beyond our equally primitive humans we call East Cleveland residents..

Oh, how the Liberals will go bonkers over this....

I totally agree with the person from(friend) Alliance Ohio. It is amazing as human beings how critical we can be of each other. First of all, I give the 77 year old much credit for being on the golf course.
We must have an abundance of intelligent people in Ohio who seem to forget "devastation" usually takes place in seconds. Honestly, who could react that fast especially not expecting it? Credit to his son and fellow golfers for their bravery in saving Dad's arm.

Such a tragedy. I hope he gets better. This will continue as long as humans invade the wildlife territory.
