Wondering if anyone else thought the teenage workers at Food Giant were rude? I know I will never go back after 8pm b/c of the rude comments by cashiers, and someone was mopping right in front of the main entrance when they don't close until much later! I think these teens are more concerned about getting out of there early than doing their job and treating their customers with respect. I think Mr. Grojean is a very nice man, but he may need to keep a closer eye on his weekend evening crew!

he was mopping at 8 because he has an hour and a half to mop the entire store then buff and then sweep, if he wasnt supposed to be doing it then a manager would have said something

I am usually disturbed by the conversations going on between the cashiers. I've heard about parties, pregnant students, horrific parents, etc while waiting in line to pay for my groceries. It's like the customers aren't there. It's the girls that do this. It's rude and very unprofessional. Not like I'm expecting much from my cashier. I just don't want to hear about every aspect of their personal lives while I'm paying for my meat and toilet paper. I've witnessed the stockers throw things several aisles at each other, ram each other with carts, etc. They are just kids, and kids need supervision. Some of the "managers" out there have no control and get no respect. So they run wild when they are on duty. Just my piece.

Every business that has a lot of teens working there will have the same issues. I've worked with and around teens for 13 years and it has never changed. I'm not making excuses for them but you get what you see, immaturity.

I've never had any issues with them myself. If anything they are super nice and helpful to me (except the one that gawks at my chest and follows me around).

They aren't bad all the time, you just caught them in one of their lesser than finer moments. Perhaps you should say something to their face about it and they will have a lesson learned. I'm sure it will make a bigger difference comming from you, than if they are getting scolded by "the man".

i agree with guest, the kids there are very rude and don't expect a carry out after 6:00 no matter how many bags you have. I too have seen cans thrown back and forth between the stockers. I guess they are practicing for the football game on friday.

I don't know about rude, every cashier I have had has been nice to me and my kids. I tend to ignore them when they chatter because I know it has to get boring for them. Gilrs are meant to gossip, and boys will tend to goof around roughly. Even so they are still doing their jobs. You can't expect them to act more mature if you don't say something. Kids will be kids and according to the TP thread cannot be held responsible for everything they do it's all fun and games.

Come on, what do you expect them? They're kids for crying out loud and at least they got the gumption to get out and get a job.

Just remember, Customer Service is a "learned skill" so not everyone is born with it!

I think the cashiers are nice. Maybe you found them on a bad day. I also agree with GUESt, that job has got to get boring. So what if they throw items, or play with the carts. They are just kids. So long as no one gets hurt and nothing gets broken no big deal. I think some of you are expecting too much from kids. Worker is right, at least they have a job. Some kids won't work, let mom and dad pay their way or mooch off friends. Give credit where it's due.

I like the eye candy at the grocery store. Some hot girls in there. They need to wear lower cut shirts and shorter shorts! Makes me wish I was 10 years younger.

Your a sick freak! 10 years younger? These girls are in high school. You need to start using your "other" little brain when you speak of young girls!

Your such a pr*ck, you need smacked in your mouth for your rude ass mouth. Look who's talking, you said the girls at food giant were eye candy and that you wished you were 10 years younger. That tells me your an old pervert. These girls are under age and they need to watch out for nasty men like you! Maybe one of their Dad's will find out who you are and run their fist down your throat! It's time you shut your dirty mouth!

I have never had a problem going to Food Giant. Bobby is great and he does a good job managing the employees there. Yeah so the girls and boys from high school works there. They have always been helpful and considerate towards others that come in. So what if they talk about what is going on at school. Most of them know my daughter and I find out whats going on anyways. It isn't like they are sitting around with their thumbs in their ears. They do work hard at everything. If they aren't checking someone out. They are stalking the bread and cleaning the doors so that people can see out. The also help The boys by keep the front swept. Just to let you know Food Giant closes at 10 so they have to start mopping at 8 so by 9 or 9:30 the floor is dry and they buff the floor.

There I said my piece so maybe you all should just leave those that are working there alone. You should think back when you was their age and in school and holding down a part time job.

They have all been nice to me. Of course I'm nice to them.

BTW, if you buy deli cheese or meat, be sure to get Pablo to cut it for you. He's the best meat and cheese cutter at Food Giant and the cutest too.
