Thank God. The death penalty, not to mention a first degree murder charge, are grossly inappropriate in this case.

Stabbed 50 times. First degree murder sounds like a very appropriate charge.

After I read your comment I couldn't do anything but cry uncontrollably. How could you say such a heartless, cruel, mean thing? Do you have children? If so, have you ever lost a child? Do you have a clue what its like to have to lose the one person in your life that means more to you than even the air that we breathe? And to have lost our child in such an unbelievable manner is incomprensible and so heartbreaking is beyond what we can still even fathom. I'm not sure why you would say such a thing, but it is unforgivable and the most heartless thing I have ever heard anyone ever say.

A Heartbroken Mother’s Story – My son, Kenny Pfeiffer

How do I learn to live without my child? The child that I carried inside my body for 9 months, raised through his childhood years and then into a beautiful young man? The child that has now been taken away from me in such a brutal way?

My son, Kenny Pfeiffer is 22 years old and the center of my world. He is my heart and soul, my best friend. He was a student at CSC in Chadron, NE until Dec. 5th, when a monster in human form ripped my son from my life in the most horrific way possible. How do I begin to even fathom this? How do I start the mourning and grieving process when I'm still in such a state of shock? How do I live without this wonderful person that I have known & loved for 23 years? He was funny, sweet, had the most beautiful smile and eyes that were so warm and kind. The minute I saw him when he was born I felt like I had known him my whole life. We had such a connection. My beautiful baby, my beautiful boy, my beautiful young man, my best friend is gone.

My son is Kenny Pfeiffer. I am his mother. I am heartbroken and my life has lost its meaning. My sunshine, my heart is gone. A monster took the life of my only son. His father, sister and I are grieving and mourning for a wonderful boy that we will never be able to see in this lifetime again. No longer will we hear his great laugh, see his beautiful smile, feel his big arms around us when he comes home for visits. No more talks on the phone or endless texts between us. No more future for any of us. We won't see Kenny graduate from college, we won't see him get married and we will never hold his children in our arms. Our loss, our hurt, our complete and utter emptiness that we feel has devastated us to the core. I miss my son so much. Just to think of him makes me cry hysterically. Why? Why did this so called best friend of my son hurt him (alledgely) this way? I am offended that Joey Hotz still breathes the same air that I breathe or that he takes up space on this planet. There is a special place in hell for Joey Hotz for what he's done (alledgely) to our sweet boy. I will cry and mourn the loss of my baby for the rest of my life. I hope there isn't a second, a minute an hour, a day that goes by that you aren't haunted and tortured by what you did (alledgely) to Kenny. Even then you won't feel one once of the pain our family feels.
I will always and forever love you, my son. Love you and miss you beyond words. your mom, dad and sister Bris. Xoxoxoxi

A question: Is Timothy Hotz any relation to Joey Hotz? If so, I pray to God that my son's trial and the justice he deserves isn't served up the in the same way justice WASN'T served for those 2 young people from Pine Ride that were mowed down by Timothy Hotz. He not only admitted to running them down, but admitted to leaving the scene of the accident, taking hair off his windshield from one of the kids he killed and refused to take a blood test. I pray to God that the name of Hotz doesn't translate to: Only partially guilty or get away with murder. Our life is already destroyed. That would be the final straw to completely crush our family into oblivion. My son deserves to receive justice and Joey Hotz needs to pay for his (alledged) horrific crime of taking our son from us. Kenny's grieving mother, dad and sister.

If your son considered Joey his best friend, something terribly wrong must have happened. They were both using drugs and something went wrong. Not saying that is an excuse, but the Hotz family also faces a huge loss. Tim and Joey are two different people. Kenny obviously felt safe around Joey.

The Hotz family doesn't face a huge loss. They can still see their son, hold him, talk to him, etc. None of the things that Kenny's family can do with their son anymore. Joey made a choice to (alledgely) do what he did now he has to pay. There is no forgiveness or sympathy in our hearts for that (alledged) murdering monster.

I understand how the heartbroken family must feel. Is there any justice anymore? Wish we lived by Bible law or by Texas law. I am so sorry for your loss--be assured the Almighty will handle it in His own time and way.

Of course this would not happen because it was not an Indian that was killed but a white person.

-I grew up with Kenny in Sebastian, Fl. I've never known Kenny to do anything to anger anyone. Kenny was always smiling and laughing. Kenny was a great person. You say something went wrong, Yeah Hotz lost his mind and should now lose his life as well, if not should suffer in prison for the rest of it! He'll make a good girlfriend for somebody in there. Sounds like being worthless pieces of shit runs in the Hotz family!
-To Kenny's family, he's with better people now, Mitek will take care of him! Miss you guys, Kenny and Dave!

To those that don't think the death penalty was appropriate I leave that comment alone but I would like you to sit and think of a couple of things. 1st has anyone ever stapped your loved one 50+ times and left him for dead. Do you wake up at night screaming your little brothers name because you dream he is there and you run to help him and he dissapears?? Do you look in your son's baseball hat and see RIP #10 uncle kenny protect me?? Do all yo have is prictures and memories of him or have such overwelming guilt of senting him from your house to get him in to a college there so he culd play football?? I believe just some of or all you would say NO. Well these are just some of my daily experieces. I find myself crying unconsolable in line at stores when a song comes on the radio. So if it make you feel better to use the drug theory so be it. But I think that is a lam excuse!!! My brother had no chance that day. I will never see him get married, have kids, nor will my son and daughters best friend get to share or expereance anything with there only uncle again!! Will I ever forgive NO I asked god for my forgivness for this and I know he will due to God doesn't like evil. Read the bible and enlighten yourself. My brother was the sweetest person and friend you could ever have. He was that friend that would be there through thick and thin and never let you down. So before you say anything about how things should be handled or how you are glad of the handling of NO Death Penalty but yourself in my, my mom and Kenny's dads shoes. Kenny I love you and miss you more everyday. Love your Big Sister

I am so sorry for your loss and nothing can ease your pain or the pain of the other boys family but may I suggest an outlet for you? You may have heard of a program called Compassionate Friends, this is an outstanding program that helps you to deal with ever day life with your loss and it is a group that have all lost loved ones like you. As I said nothing will bring back your loved one but there are others out there that do understand your loss.

EVERYONE IS QUICK TO BLAM DRUGS. BS. THIS GUY HAS A SOMETHING WRONGWITH HIM. I DON'T FEEL SORRY FOR JOSEPH'S FAMILY. WHAT HE DID WAS SICK AND UNCALLED FOR. HE TOOK A GOOD PERSON FROM US. I BELEIVE THAT IF YOU KILL SOMEONE IN COLD BLOOD, THEY ALSO SHOULD BE KILLED. I FEEL SO SORRY FOR KENNY'S FAMILY KNOWING THAT THIS FREAK IS GOING TO LIVE OUT THE REST OF HIS LIFE. I KNOW IN THE END GOD WILL GIVE HIM THE FINAL JUDGEMENT, BUT FOR US STILL HERE, WE NEED JUSTICE TOO. IT ISN'T JUST HIS FAMILY, BUT HIS FRIENDS. HE WAS A FRIEND TO ALL OF US AND holtz CAN'T EVEN TAKE THAT AWAY FROM US.
