i beg to differ. my son played in Minor B last season. his coaches NEVER practiced fundamentals. it was show up to practice; stretch for 10 minutes; batting practice. and the coaches couldn't even throw strikes, so kids had to either take the pitch or swing at a bad ball. all the while with the knucklehead asst. coach yelling at them to 'stop being so picky.' brutal. my experience with my older son in lmba had been that the basics are emphasized and their are more knowledgeable coaches over there, IMO.
hmm what team was that my son went through the same thing maybe ee eere on the same team...lol 1 thing for sure is its a candy a! League in my opinion to many personal friends way too many women on the board!!! Its a baseball league not a school project...lol .. Oybtw what league allows a president to manage a team? That boarf needs change with baseball people i mean its volunteer but cmon get some legit coaches. I dont volunteer to coach other sports like soccer because it would cheat the kids due to my lack of knowledge of the game... Get my drift...lol

People are ghetto not pony or L.L. What is funny to me is that now a day anyone can just pop up and create a travel ball team... Most of those teams go and play pony because they are permitted to take their entire team.... I know that these travel ball/pony boys are having there best days now, i mean most will be burned out by high school... To all u ghetto families baseball is a gentlemens game a classy one at that so leave ur hood ties at your door unless of course u like embarassing your child by your appearance...lol...CLASS

To clarify - LMBA (Pony) does not allow a full travel ball team to register and play with the league. Some PONY leagues do. Mission Viejo Pony has a special division that travel ball teams can play in, but LMBA does not.

that may be yrue but most in the area do...either way igs all about the parents and volunteers only they determine the atmosphere and attitude of a league, there are great coaches in both, i was a member of pony for 13 years left due to lack of integrity of board members and I will say yhis Pony is alot more competitive but again due to travel ball, players gokn to pony because the same rules are applied. Where L.L rules are slightly different at the end of the day its about teaching the game of baseball both have great coaches you just have to check in to it Pony doesnt have to play all players where L.L. Rquires all players to play it is what it is again pony in my opinion would be a ljttle more competitve. If your child is learning and having fun really does anything else matter?

That may be true but most do I was involved in pony for over 12 years i only went to L.L. Due to the lack of integrity the league was showing...neither here nor ther i know just saying...the bottom line is only the board and members of leafue can determine rhe atmosphere and atfitude of a league...and in my experience a great league is made of its parents and volunteers both pony and l.l have great coaches you just have to look

You should get all of your facts straight before posting anything. Pony does not allow travel ball teams to sign up. Travel ball players can sign up but they will have to go through the tryout and draft process, unless they are frozen to a particular team. Pony also requires the each and every kid must play in every game. If a manager sits a kid in consecutive innings, the manager is ejected from that game and will also be suspended for the following game. Get your facts people.

If a kid goes pro its not going to be because of a volunteere coach....lol too funny....

I think you spent your childhood playing baseball and practicing so you could go to the big leagues. You sure didn't spend the time studying and working on your grammar skills. LOL

Both leagues are pretty bad. The boards of both leagues have issues.
Pony has Incompetence, Little League has bad corruption.
Rios is out of control and Abler is clueless.

LMBA is going to dry up. Talk about incompetent board members that make the league look stupid since they are only focused on themselves and their friends.

Maybe Rios should go there!

There is a rumor that this year a pony division coach brought his 8 players and then stated I have registrations for 3 others also, If any other coach takes them we will leave and play travel ball only. The league let them stay. I call that travel ball.

Who cares let the kids play ball after all thats what it is all about... It is sad that now a day nobody likes to teach instead they recruit players mostly in pony i mean cmon tball all stars? how lame is that??? As far as rios and abler dont blame two guys for a whole league especially presidents they only account for a deciding vote in dead locks it is the board as a whole that should be accountable i will say this though as a former pony board member... Pony will fizzle out due to its parents all wanting to play ytavel baseball which is a joke as well... Most of those pkayers end up washed up by 20 due to overuse check the stats...its a game in which young kids devolope into mentally tough young men...lets get back to basics enough with all the wanna be lasorda and la russa wanna bes...lol let the kids play ball...and coaches teach not recruit....stop letting clueless coaches in the league
