A salute to Long Beach veterans in the Great War
The Great War ended on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month in 1918 in Compiègne, France, and in Long Beach, as in thousands of other cities in the world, it was a time for celebration.

They must mean the Great Dumb War. Germany had defeated it's enemies, the game was all but over, then we sent our boys to die in a wretched trench war, stomped the Germans face in the mud with the treaty of Versailles, paving the way for Hitler.
It was the 2nd Dumbest war the US has ever been in. Number 1 goes to invading Europe in WWII, and funding Stalin's mass holocaust that made Hitler look like Annette Funicello before she got her period.
