LBREPORT.com has learned on July 9, a group estimated by one witness as between 50-80 teenage boys and girls, and estimated by an LBPD source as roughly 100 teenagers, converged on Long Beach's downtown business district starting with the "Pike" commercial area south of Ocean Blvd. and then proceeded north on Pine Ave. to the CityPlace area (roughly 3rd to 6th Sts., allegedly victimizing some businesses along the way by stealing some goods.
A non-LBPD witness reported 50-80 teens (both boys and girls) rushed en masse down the Pike-development area streets and sidewalks toward Pine Ave. and then north on Pine. The witness says they were being pursued by three Pike Security personnel and one police cruiser (without lights or siren).
An LBPD source indicates that on Tuesday July 9 [time not immediately available] approximately 100 teenagers converged on the area near the Pike commercial development. Pike security called LBPD; officers responded; Pike security personnel requested LBPD assistance to have the teenagers leave the Pike area on grounds they were causing a disturbance; the group was told to leave and apparently complied with the requests.
The LBPD source indicates that some members of this group entered some stores [locations not clear] and allegedly stole merchandise [specifics not immediately available.] LBPD made at least one arrest for theft [further info on any further arrests coming] with some businesses declining to prosecute. Some other members of the group were cited for various violations.
LBPD notified LASD Metro Sheriffs (in charge of Blue Line security) as members of the group got back on the train and returned to the L.A. Area.
LBPD Public Information Officer Sgt. Aaron Eaton says that at this point, LBPD has no information that leads it to believe that the July 9 Long Beach incident is related to the July 16 vandalism in the area of Hollywood Blvd./Highland Ave.(coverage NBCLosAngeles.com ) or otherwise connecting the Long Beach and Los Angeles incidents at this time.
Sgt. Eaton said that LBPD asks the public to contact police if they see anything like so-called "flash mobs" or gatherings of individuals who appear to have a purpose similar to what occurred at Hollywood/Highland last night (July 16)
The events occurred in the 2nd Council district (Councilwoman Suja Lowenthal) and the 1st Council district (Vice Mayor Robert Garcia, chairs the Council's Public Safety Committee). To our knowledge, the July 9 incident went unmentioned by the two Council representatives, or others, at the July 16 City Council meeting. To our knowledge, what took place hasn't been mentioned on their respective Facebook pages or elsewhere.
Calls to the City Hall offices of Vice Mayor Garcia and Councilmember Lowenthal reached voice mail between 3:40 and 3:50 p.m. today (July 17) indicating no one was available to respond to inquiries.
News of the incident first began circulating among downtown residents on a neighborhood social network site, and a downtown resident only recently brought the matter to LBREPORT.com 's attention and we followed-up with LBPD.
At the July 16 City Council meeting, Councilwoman Lowenthal focused on efforts to enact an ordinance easing restrictions on owning chickens, goats and bees. Vice Mayor Garcia agendized an item regading a policy [management estimated annual cost:$10,000] governing teenage bullying.

Yeah. Right. When rampaging mobs of increasingly violent "out of control" Africans threaten life limb and property, just call the politicized cops. Rather than bust heads as they should, the cops might make an example of one or two of the "children" by turning them over to the corrupt juvenile "justice" system. That'll fix em'.

Didn't read about this in the Press Telegram. They must have been on a Skittle break. What a mess of a newspaper.

And here we go... again...
Great way to continue to keep downtown Long Beach a ghost town. The mayor and councilmen hiding under their desks really helps with city morale.

Just let it be known that those who get caught rioting lose their EBT/welfare benefits for life.

How is Vice Mayor Garcia going to spin his losing control of his district to random acts of black violence in his bid for mayor?
