Oh I love it! Voting today. Weeded out who we didn't want. We have more control and power then last year. We can run the league as we want and everyone will just follow along. It's a wonderful feeling.

This is what you get when you charge a fee to vote. It can easily be corrupted by getting enough people to sign up. And since you dont even need to be affiliated with the league in any way to be a voting member makes it even worse. And you end up with 50 people voting on league matters with over 600 parents. And of those 50 over 20 were board members voting for themselves. All parents or guardians that have a son or daughter in the league should vote. The returning board members should not be able to manipulate the vote so they get "friends of the board" voted in. At minimum all board members, managers, coaches and team moms should automatically be voting members. The latter 2 put in more time then board members do, why should they pay. Call around, see how many little leagues charge money to vote.
If you find 1 outside of district 29 I will retract my rant.

And who ever was on Lopez, no problem being unhappy with the work, but no reason to be nasty.

Charging people to vote???? As an ex board member and manager/coach from many years ago the agendas of everyone on this Topix thread are obscene. If I was a parent deciding where I wanted my child to play baseball it would be Pony, just because of the negativity and hatred in this league. When you have Grandma's with an agenda things are WAY out of control. When I was active in the lLMLL,LMBA were the the drama queens now it's the opposite, REAL SAD. Gentile as far as manager's and team mom's putting in more time than board members, BULLS&%T. I would like to see how long it takes you to inventory equipment and uniforms, repair them and organize them.(I hated watching Dwight do this, not an enviable board position). How long do you think it takes to enter 500 (900 when my son played) kids names and all contact information into a data base. How long do you think it takes to put together signups, tryouts a draft and so on. I had 60-70 hours invested before the first practice was scheduled. not to mention my 8 scheduled board duties of 3-4 hours each. Plus the numerous phone calls and nuances of being a board member, and I enjoyed it. Before you respond-Yes we did have board members who did very little but if they were volunteering then they were volunteering. LMLL please clean up the petty decisiveness and if you can't say anything nice or at the least be constructive. Shut the hell up.
Thank you

Agree on 90 percent. When you mention Dwight and pony in the same statement. You worry me. Have you no loyalty. Have you noticed the patch all the players wear. You were probably a player agent or director. And I say. Thank you !! You are a great ex volunteer and should be appreciated. But please don't don't let your judgement be clouded by rumors. You where good for the league. But please don't let the past cloud your judgement for the future for those that care. Thanks again.

haha, lets see how long did it take, Equipment took me and Ron Allen approx 2 hours. You must be math challenged?. Uniforms that is the most time consuming thing so that is about 12 hours total, again many more if math is not your strong suit. I was once a board member and know exactly how hard the job is. But I also know that after march 5th, it is not a lot of time. It becomes a lot of time because only 10 people actually do anything each year. I could give you 4 names that are currently on the board that have never worked
a 1 hour shift let alone a 3hr shift. So I am sorry if you were 1 of the 10 when you were on the board, I should not have generalized so much. I was also one of the 10 and that is why I am a ex board member also. But also most of what you listed is 8 different board members duties. I know Aaron would love to have responsible people like yourself. But people love titles and credit, they just dont like work. Keep up the good work Board. all 5 of you.

First of all I'm ver well educated so don't be a smart a$$ with your math challenged comments, by doing that you come across as one of the problems. When I was on the board we had 900-1,000 kids in the league (22 tiny T and super T teams 10 minor C teams, 10 minor B, 12 minor A, 12 majors and 10 juniors. We never inter leagued) and we played everyday and on Saturdays until 9:00pm. Everyone did their board duties and many volunteered extra time. I used to watch Dwight and help sometimes with the repair of catching shin guards and masks, as we replaced buckles and straps instead of buying new equipment if possible. If doing that and other repairss for equipment took you 2 hours to do I'm impressed. Back then also the player agent set up the try outs, entered the names in the computer (sometimes I would ask someone else to do it), schedule and run the draft and schedule field times for practice. I might have been on the board for one year with Ron Allen and he spent most of his time at Kling so that would mean you most likely were not on the Board with me, but trust me our jobs did not end March 5th, sure they slowed down but most of us were still up at Behringer most days. The point I'm making is that if you are a parent, board member or supporter of LMLL stop the negativity on this site. Be an adult and confront the Board or Aaron like an adult and quit posting the immature comments here.

Seems like being a smarter adult would be to not make comments you know nothing about. Aaron happens to be one of my best friends and I talk to him daily. And I have to call you on your numbers for little league, You seem to have a exagerration problem. Little League does not allow 12 major teams in 1 league. you would have had to split the league into 2 different boards also. So recheck your info.
And just for your info, we did not have to repair anything because whoever did the buying, I believe it was dwight had bought so much catchers gear and umpire gear we are still trying to get rid of it.
There is more equipment being stored at LMLL then is being used on the field.
I actually think you are 1 of the problems, you have nothing to do with the league and have not for obviously more then 10 years yet you have many comments to make. You know what they say about people who assume they know something! There is no further point with you, I speak in facts, you speak in murky history.

EX EX is 100% correct. We were TWO leagues, ask anyone that has been around longer than five years. We were LMLL East and LMLL West. We had two teams from each division, a total of two teams that went all stars, LMLL East and West after many complaints to Tom Mandella and District 29 President we became one league. Our complaint was that we were splitting our talent up over two teams and no one else had to do that but LMLL including Cypress who had the same amount of teams. The season after we became one league was when our player numbers went down to the cycle of kids and the popularization of travel ball. Your facts are so skewed it ridiculous. I know Aaron also met and talked to him a few times very nice guy, but just because you know him and talk to him everyday doesn't make you a HISTORIAN of LMLL. As far as me knowing anything about the league, No I admit, I know very little other than the sniping that is typed here and comes across in not a positive way. EX EX is not too far off and I know I'm 100% right.

Exactly....aren't we clever? This is why the membership table is never set up. We can control who are the general members and control the votes. That's why Michelle turned people away...haha. You parents are such puppets. You have no idea what's going on. Love love love it!
