Garcia Moves to Restrict School Suspensions for Unruly Blacks and Hispanics

(Oct. 8, 2013, 11:40 a.m.)-- A policy that would direct Long Beach teachers and school administrators to monitor and seek to prevent a disproportionate share of student suspensions from occuring at a given school campus or within demographic subgroups and build on existing efforts to provide alternatives to suspension or expulsion will be discussed at tonight's (Oct. 8) School Board meeting.
The action comes one week after Long Beach City Councilman Steven Neal, joined by Councilman Al Austin and Vice Mayor Robert Garcia, agendized an item that initially urged LBUSD (Oct. 1) to implement "restorative justice" measures to reduce student suspensions and expulsions...

Well, if they don't want to suspend them, just kick them out completely. It's not like they are going to graduate, and become productive citizens, anyway.
Keeping them in the classroom, to disrupt the other students, will just further erode our API indexes, the educational process for those students who might actually want to learn, and teachers leaving the profession in droves, in those shitty schools, making ALL the students losers, in the long run.
