I was very pleased to see a cover story featuring Argos, and therefore highlighting theater in Santa Fe. Theater indeed gets such sort-shrift in Santa Fe. Argos was one of the first people I worked with in Santa Fe when I moved to Santa Fe in 1998. He generously allowed me to re-adapt his Mother's version of Dicken's A Christmas Carol and built a terrific open two-level set for the production which we used again the next year for The History of Tom Jones. He's dedicated to theater, and a supportive audience member for other companies as well. He touched on the greatest issue facing theater in Santa Fe--how easily it is ignored and how little is is supported. There is tremendous audience and fiscal support for opera, music and dance, but somehow theater remains the marginalized the "bastard in the basement." I dream of the day when the city of Santa Fe, as the Capitol of the State, invests some serious funding into creating theater on the same level--a regional theater--for all of us to participate in and enjoy. World class opera, music, dance AND THEATER --now wouldn't that be something !
Well done, Argos.

I'm so pleased to see Argos on the cover, too! I worked with Argos at the Santa Fe Playhouse from when I was 8-12 and he was by far my favorite :) His nieces were in theatre there as well. When I worked as an apprentice at the Lensic at 18, I had the chance to work with Argos again on the crew. An amazing man.
