Thank You

I just wanted to say thank you to the following officers of Ceredo: Tony Poston, Jeremy Walters, Andy Schaffer, Aaron Ball, Tim Craft and Danny Brody. I've lived in Ceredo for many years and this is the finest group of officers this town has had. It takes a special person to lay their life on the line and to me it is an honor to have them serving and protecting our community.

I actually don't know all of the current officers well, but Andy and his family come in where I work and they're great! It's rare for me to see parents so happy to be with each other and their kids. I know he wouldn't work for any place he didn't respect, though, so I thank Andy and the others, too!

I agree! These are all good officers. I don't know the officers too well myself, but one of my friends had an encounter with Officer Ball and he was very polite and helpful. I think everyone in this town should show more appreciation for their law enforcement even if it's a simple wave or a thank you. I'm sure that would mean alot to them.

To the previous two posts...please do not comment on here unless you have something positive to say. Some of us respect the law enforcement in our community and are proud to have them here. Besides, if you want your rude, irritating comments on topix, there are plenty of other conversations on here.

Didn't one of the officers save a 6 year old boys life not to long ago?

I was just wondering if Officer Ball was on a different shift...I had heard he was leaving for the academy soon. I'll be glad to see him come back. He's always very professional and helpful. Wish all the cops were like that.

Yeah...I do believe Officer Ball is at the academy for awhile. I'll be glad when he's back on shift too. One of my friends was pulled over by him and he let them go with a warning. They also said he was really nice about it. He's one of the few good cops...hope he sticks around!

It's nice to see people showing respect for the Ceredo Police Department. A close friend of mine used to be on the force not that long ago. Everyone usually talks bad about the police because they are upset they got caught doing something wrong and need someone else to blame. Ceredo has had a good group of guys since 2004. They have been, and continue to strive to be, the well-rounded police department in this area. Say what you want, but there has not been a better group of police officers. There was a large turn over a year or so ago, but they continued to hire high quality people to fill the spots that the other guys had left. Thank you Jack Butcher, Tony Poston, Michael Clark, Curtis Kingery, Jeremy Walters, Chris Perry, Tim Craft, Andy Schaffer, Aaron Ball, and Danny Brody. Despite the negativity people attempt to bring up to mask their own faults, you have done a great and honorable job in your service as our Town's protectors and servants.

CPD has always been nice to me and the officers have been respectful even when I got a ticket where the speed drops twice. Went to court and got it vacated and the officer even helped me. That was back in the 90's. It's a safe community

I went to school with some of these guys and some are married to or dating friends from high school. Officers that grew up in the Huntington/Ashland/Ironton area always seem to make better officers because it's not just their job but their community, their family, and friends.

CK also has always had much better leadership up top than Huntington could hope for....too bad CK can't annex Huntington!

Ceredo PD is a great department and it's too bad some of the other departments were not like them. Ceredo officers always look and act professional. Keep up the good work!

Yes, I agree. People have no respect for the law. I have been pulled over by Officer Ball and he was very polite and professional. My life has also been affected by drunk drivers and I appreciate how aggressive he is with them. I wish all the officers were like him. I have no problem with someone having a couple drinks, but when it could possibly take someone's life, I have a real problem with that. Thank you for your protection of this town. I respect you greatly! I pray for your safety always!

If we cannot have our own opinion then why do they ask for comments on this web site?

I think Ceredo has had good officers in the past, they may have had their own personal problems, but I think they always tried to be good Officers. However, the Officers we currently have in my opinion are among the best.
