Just wanted to say if you plan on buying anything at the Rose Tree please do some research first. Go online and read some of the reviews. I wish I had. I purchased a bridesmaid gown there. i made a deposit and was told the rest would be due when the dress arrived. However 2 months before the dress even came in they went through my debit card and withdrew the rest of the money without my authorization. They also did 2 other bridesmaids like this. The other bridesmaids who did not leave a credit trail, their dress was charged to the bride. They went back over a year and dug up her account where she bought a party dress, before she was engaged and used her charged her credit card for the other dresses of course without her authorizaton. After all this I looked up some reviews online and many complaints have been filed with the Attorney Generals office. Apparently this is a common practice for them to charge credit cards and take money out of bank accounts without authorization. Beware

I find it best to inform a business that I do not have a credit card, or a debit card even if when I actually do. If you notice they all try to get that info from you.
That will avoid these issues. I have had a similar situation happen to me. That made me learn not to trust any businesses.
I would say that alot of companies pull this kind of crap. That could really mess you up taking out your monies when you are not expecting it.

I actually had a co-worker that got a brides maid dress there once. She was overweight and went to get measured and they were a little rude to her about how MUCH they would have to alter it, etc. etc. hurt her feelings, then when the dress was altered and supposely ready for pickup she went to pick it up and the measurements were all wrong - it was too too tight. She was in a jam. She was not able to get a refund since they altered the dress.(the famous fine print).
Stuck with a dress that did not fit her, even after they measured her. Then it was too late to redo the dress. She was devastated, ended up having to wear a dress that did not match anyone elses and of course the bride was upset. It was all due to the lovely Rose Tree.

i purchased a wedding dress there and bought it on the spot , i wasent getting married for about 7 months but i loved the dress so i went ahead and purchased it. it needed alterations because it was to big. they told me "oh no problem bring it back in a month or so before your wedding and we will do it free of charge". when i took the wedding dress back to have it altered , they did the alterations and never said a word. when i went back to pick my dress up after alterations they charged me 95 dollars and said they dont know who told me my alterations would be free. i didnt have the 95 dollars on me so i had to leave the dress there and i told them i wouldnt be back in town for a couple weeks they said that was fine. they would hold it. they called me 3 days later adn told me that if i didnt come with the 95 dollars that they were resaling my dress. of course i wasent gonna let the keep it so i had to have a family memeber pick it up for me and they were very disrespectful and rude. never again will i or anyone in my family purchase another thing there .watch out people

I hate to hear of things liked this but I know it is the truth. I got married 17 yrs ago and needed the netted skirt for under my dress. Got home and it was used!!! The string was out of it half way and it was filthy and torn also. They acted like there was no way that it could have been that way and just really acted ugly when I took it back to get another. There wasnt a NEW one in the store period so I went back to where I bought by dress and got a NEW one and cheaper. They mostly cater to the rich not the everyday working joe that is looking for something special for a wedding or a prom and if you arent the right size or dressed right they treat you like you are beneath them to help. That is sad. Everyone should be treated with respect regardless of money or looks.

i must say i agree with what everyoone is putting on here about the Rose tree, they have beautiful things with outrageous prices and you are looked upon poor and watched if you arent dressed in a certain way, well as for me i had to go after work most days and wasnt dressed in formal attire but you know the strange thing is, is that MY money spends the same as every one elses so i took MY money and spent it elseware

I have heard all these types of comments throught the years myself. My daughter was married a year ago and I was nothing but pleased with everything that we did at this store. We ordered and fitted EVERYTHING there and had no problem what so ever. They treated us well and things were in when they told us they would be in. I couldn't have asked for better treatment! Love this place!

A lady I work with took her daughters prom dress there a couple of weeks ago to have it altered and they didn't fix it and left big gaping holes down both sides

ordered a prom dress, came in 6 weeks later, 2 sizes smaller, and the style was different, They told me that just because you order a style does not mean you will get the same thing, They refused to give me my money back and insisted the dress was the right size even though the bag clearly stated that it was 2 sizes smaller, Now Im stuck with a style I didn't order and one which is clearly too small. I want to let everyone know that this is a horrible business. Stay Away !!!!!

Bought a prom dress , had it altered and when it came in , it was way too small and know they have to add fabric to it so it will fit . On top of it they wanted to charge me again for altering it a second time ,since They did a bad job the first time around.
The managers are worthless as well as the rest of the crew, I strongly recommend that you do not buy anything here since they do not take their business seriously.

I hate to hear stuff like that. But I do have a question. If they are that bad, how have they stayed in business all these years? I drive past there every day, and the parking lot is jampacked. Somebody must like them.

The buying experience at Rose Tree was a horrible experience. I'm the sister of the bride. My sister picked out the shoes for us to wear and told them she didn't know my size. When I called to ask them if they could get my size, they called back leaving a message that they couldn't get my size and asked me to call back. I didn't call back. When I went to pick up the dress they had taken it upson themselves to order a size larger in the shoe and expected me to pay for them. After much discussion, they took it off my bill but added it to my sister's accout without authorization!!! This is not the only thing that has happened with this buying process. It's just been horrible!!

I can answer the question above. I knew prior to ordering my bridesmaid dresses and shoes from there, that they were hard to deal with, because I had problems with them when I was bridesmaid in a wedding last fall. However, I still ordered ONLY my bridesmaid dresses and shoes. Why you ask? Because the most pleasant store to deal with, English Rose, where I purchased my dress, didn't carry the designer I had chose. Rose Tree was the closest store in the area that did carry the designer. So my guess, the business they receive is only because of their big selection. I know now, that I will never and I will warn everyone that I can, not to purchase anything from them. Isn't getting married suppose to be a wonderful, exciting, happy experience. They are responsible for turning happy, cheerful brides into the dreaded bridezilla.

I know for a fact this is false information. As long as you don't try to not pay for your dress or go beyond the layaway period, they do not insist anyone pay their balances off or charge any cards. It also states in the contract that if you do not pay off balances all of them on the wedding will be charged to the bride's account. The only reason they can legally charge the card is because this is in the signed contract when you purchase anything. Here's a hint. Read something before you sign it. If you don't like the policy take your business somewhere else.

The rosetree makes me so sick. It seems that NO matter who you talk to the have the same awful things to say about them. It is so true that they look at you like a poor peasant if you do not have on a leopard outfit and 6 inch hills. My wedding party and i spent well over $5,000, and they still treated us like crap. They ABSOLUTLEY do not know how to measure, and DEFINITELY charge money to you accounts without permisssion. I guess they must need the extra money concindering they make minimun wage and act like bilionaires.RUDE POOR BITCHES....p.s. some of you need to pull up your shirts

I have to laugh at this. I've been around for there 15 years and they help everyone that comes in the store. Its been there over 30 years because they are fantastic. Every now and then things go wrong. Grow up.... it happens everywhere at some time or another. I like that they only comments on here are from people that can't even spell. You don't get treated like crap for being poor, its for being a bitch. Every store has a low tolerance for stupid. And sorry if the sales girls' clothing choices aren't up to your Goodwill standards. Read a fashion magazine and look in the mirror before you judge someone else. If you sign a contract, you honor it. Read the fine print. They don't steal money, they just don't let people return items after ordering because the companies won't let them. Why should they pay for something just because you can't?

If they charged it to your sisters account... it's because she is the one who authorized the sale. They NEVER order a single thing without permission and a size. The employee would be too afraid to get fired if she even thought about that. Maybe a bridesmaid guessed your size and then wouldn't fess up. No, that couldn't be it. It must be the stores' fault!! lol

Gee, sounds like someone didn't read the contract before signing that clearly states payments due every 2 weeks. The employees usually tell them that it can be once a month of even $5. Sometimes they will allow 1/2 now and 1/2 later, but not if the dress takes several months to come in. They have to pay the vendor for the dress in 30 days. Why are they expected to foot the bill for like 4 months? That's stupid. They would go under if they just floated every customer a loan for months and months. duh.
