I never got to see him in concert. I literally wore out two copies his record, "24 hours from tulsa" as a freshman in high school and drove my parents nuts playing it all the time. One of the very few 'real' rock n' roll singers from that era. I will truly miss him.

I saw Gene many times on stage and just once at Portland Street, London in the days of our youth. Gene was a very kind, gentle and giving performer. You missed a treat not getting to see him.

I got to see Gene on many occasions in our youth, I even got to see him at EMI Studios in Portland St, London, He was a very friendly performer and made all his fans feel very special, as though he only sang to them, I already miss him dearly

For two weeks now the only voice singing in our house has been Gene's. I have collected all of 25 LP'S any concert memorabillia, and all my CD'S. And have put them in a special box for safe keeping. Having seen almost every concert of Gene's since 1968, I will mis the man and his woderful voice, There will ever be
another voice like his, and such a talented person the way he put his songs together. I suppose I'm being very selfish, because I would not have liked to see Gene suffer. God keep you safe Gene and thank you for your 42 years of never ending pleasure.
