"The future of jobs in Jackson and Josephine counties, according to the Oregon Employment Department, is in service industries...
Retail workers, waiters and waitresses, cashiers and food preparers will be at the forefront..."
As the Enviros killed off the timber industry, they proclaimed that tourism would step up to take its place.
The Chamber reported that it takes 2.2 service industry jobs to equal one timber related job. That's a serious cut to revenues, to both families, and the communities in which they live.
However, every Spotted Owl now basks in 2,600 acres they can call their own!
