My mother sufferded from alshimers in New York. After my farther passed, my sister and I weighed the options for her.
It didnt look good. Loose the house with a reverse mortagage and put her in a home, OR guess what My wife and I brought her to Hong Kong.
We managed to rent the flat below ours with a caretaker and she lived for over a year with Quality.
When she turned south, she was put in a rehab hospice. It was so clean, no smell, and the staff realiy cared for her. And do you know what it coast?$6.35 a day!

My dad has been in the Medford Multicare Nursing Home for a month now. I have found nothing but caring and concerned people that work there. We all have lemons in our bunch and they just need to be squeezed out. Medford has squeezed their losers out and they are doing a great job. Keep up the caring and great patient care.

that's why the cameras are a good thing...not only does it catch the bad, but it protects the good, caring workers from false accusations. i know it would have added peace of mind when my dad was in long term care because sometimes you never really know.

this facility was fined numerous times for different things. Due to a lack of policies in place these professional caregivers were forced to make decisions on thier own. Everyone makes mistakes now and then. All of a sudden Medford Multicare is instilling policies. Hindsite is twenty-twenty. Now the facility is placing blame on thier individual workers and hanging them out to dry, If these people were such a threat to the residents, why were they allowed to continue working there for almost 9 months before they were arrested?

Some of the people arrested were the same caring and concerned people you talk so highly about. Thank you for noticing, and dont be fooled by what happens during an election year. Beurocrats dont care who they mow over to make a name for themselves

You get what you pay for. the level of experience cannot be compared. Theres a flight leaving every hour for Hong Kong. I suggest you get on one and leave America to the people who still love it. GOD BLESS AMERICA

My grandmother was in this facility.At the time it was very nice. My advice to people is to go see your family often, Because it aint no way i was going up there and see that my grandmother wasnt being wash or even have bed sores.When they see your face they dont pull that shit.It shouldnt be no excuses about what they did to those people but some people dont have a heart.We have so many people being abuse because family just leave their family and dont be seen.Like i said they no who to pull that mess on.It will come back to them when they get old. This should be a place of loving care. God will be their judge and they are going to pay for what they did.We saw my grandmother everyday and if something went down like that you would of heard about it immediately.Please visit your family. We didnt want my grandmother there but she had to go because of her condition.I beleive they took good care of her.Show your face.

I'm sorry for the people that are there! The Nsg Home I worked at Then in 80-85 inNh ..We were very very good to our people ! Whenthey weren't and I observed it ,you bet your sweet ass I was there to the DON! This day , My Mother will NEVER see a Nsg Home again .She was to be there temp , due to heart surgery and she is a bilateral amputee! They almost killed her . They were disrespectfull with her care ,"accidently disconnected her O2"while she was in heart failure ..I was the one who figured it out !HELLO I followed the tubing after I cranked the o2 and Mom still was't breathing right ....She was hospitalized for 27 days !! She is alive because she had family .We were told she couldn't use her arms due to the surgery an dher chest walls,FUCKIN BS >>>after the Hospital stay and a Dr telling us she was going to die ,gave him the eye and stuff...Mom wanted to live !!! 4 frigging trs ago they had her dead , and before that too !
Drs Pratice on us ..don't you's get it yet ? That is why they call it "Practice of Medicine '!
Look out for your Mommy's ,Daddy's,Nana's etc ...they are just a PRACTICE !!

I love how you people want to blame the caregivers when your loved ones are ill and dying. NEWSFLASH PEOPLE!! we are all going to die eventually.So when someones time has come you want to blame the doctors for not giving them more time. What about the time they already gave them with the care? also I'm sick of hearing family members patting themselves on the back for doing trivial acts of kindness to their dying elders..like actually being there. The hospital staff is there for emergency, the reason they are stuck with trivial tasks as bathing and feeding is that society as a whole has forgotten whose responsibility the elderly are.. yours.

Unfortunately it's just not true. There may be some good people there but we had multiple bad experiences, due to what I feel is a pervasive feeling of not caring and pervasive incompetence at Medford. The key to understanding your post is "short-term resident." Long-term residents often have a completely different experience.
My mother literally died *because* she went into this place. There are MULTIPLE reasons why they consistently receive the lowest rating possible - one star. And look out for their doctors - at least one of them, M. Hani Salam, has his Medical Degree from Alexandria University in Egypt - look into it, this is an EXTREMELY poor program. Just for starters, the one semester anatomy course - the very BASICS of medical study - are "dragged out" over two years - they go at ONE QUARTER of the rate. There is virtually NO clinical experience given, and the entire program, which is supposed to take 4 years, is dragged out over SIX years. This poor medical education showed multiple times in his treatment of my mother - and proved fatal.
As an example of poor treatment at the nursing home itself, they once left the covering off of her bedsores - and they were contaminated with infection material as a result. We complained and the nurse in charge did NOT take it seriously, although the problem was eventually fixed. We checked the next day, and it had happened a SECOND TIME. There is ABSOLUTELY NO excuse for this. And - yes - she got sick because of it.

Actually it takes special training and it's extremely dangerous for family to even attempt
to do these things.

It certainly is. I could tell quite a few horror stories about Medford Multicare, but it would probably take three pages or so. Starting with the time they left the dressings off of my Mom's bedsores not once, but twice in a row, allowing them to become contaminated with infectious fecal matter. And yes, she did indeed become quite ill afterward. The place has got to go, they're doing great harm and there's good reasons that they consistently get one-star ratings.

They need to start putting cameras in the administration offices.2+ HOUR LUNCHES,NO OVERSIGHT,LITTLE DISCERNABLE WORK,ADMINISTRATIVE STAFF HEAVY UNLIKE THE DIRECT CARE STAFF.They need to admonish the political hiring of incompetent relatives of the politicaly connected in these state/county institutions who are not there on merit and competence.
