Thanks for your response. I have the surgeon's records but no lot number; from report: "A 12 mm round Bard Kugel Composix patch was placed intraperitoneally behind the fascia, and then it goes on to say how it was sutured. The surgeon did call me and say it was recalled around 2007 or 2008 (I will have to check the records), but upon questioning him, he said he really sutured it well. Who is doing the buckling cases? I saw this posted by you on August 13:
Buckle cases
3B Memory recoil ring buckle Bowel resection
Composix Kugel
153k 209 Claimants
Thanks, Cindy
Cindy you need your lot #. Go to your medical records department and ask for the mesh used in your surgery. It will have a stamp on it that you can get your info. Motley Rice is handling the MDL. Phone them but you will need lot#. There are lots of law firms taking cases. Get you info and start phoning around.

The best way to identify your implant is to request your medical records, including the operative report and implant record, by contacting your doctor or the hospital where the surgery was performed. Youíre looking for the manufacturer name, product name, model number and lot number. Retaining these records can take time and may be costly and troublesome, but retrieving this information is important.

Thanks Blair, I called Medical Records and said what I needed and she said said they should be able to get the information and I mailed in Request for Information form and sent a letter to Lord-Faris on 10/26 and I have not heard back from either. Any other suggestions on attorneys? Thanks, Cindy

Cindy, just pick up the phone and call them. When they pick up, just ask for Kugel mesh, they will need your mesh type and lot number, to be able to see if your mesh is on the list. Just wait until you have your medical records. Then you will be able to see if your mesh has a ring.

Tim, Motley Rice is the firm handling the MDL, you better make sure your surgeon documents everthing, when you have the mesh explanted.

I am happy to report that Cindy did find a law firm, she had a hard time getting the lot# but it turned out to be in the nurses operative report and yes she had a ring buckle case. I talked with the law firm and they were on the ball. They think the unsettled cases should of settled but with the low payouts i would let the courts decide. The law firms that are fighting the unsettled cases are the only ones looking out for the little guy. We will have to wait another year for that decision. Never give up!
