Am I the only one disturbed by the idea of a for profit federal detention center? I guess I'm just behind the times, we have private armies, private healthcare, private intelligence services. What's the government for now, just doling out contracts to campaign contributors?

your not going to shut down a prison because of a few idiot management staff members who have all ben fired.

come on face reality its a prison. what happened was sad but being illegal is a crime the evidence is clear. some want to makeit some dont. this guy deserved better treatment. the law suits will tell how much

Oh, no you're absolutely right. I'm just against the idea of private prisons in general, not singling out Wyat other than it was the topic of this discussion. There's just something unnatural and dystopian about there being a profit attached to incarceration. I'm not against locking people up, I'm just against the idea of anyone (short of the prison staff) making a buck off of it. Did you catch that judge in PA a few months back who was taking bribes from a prison company to sentence juvenile offenders absurdly harshly to keep their camps in business?

Daily Horoscope for December 19

Cancer

Hold it! You need to approach things in a calm, controlled manner today otherwise you're likely to get yourself into a state in no time at all. That's especially likely if you're trying to meet a deadline because you'll start to panic and then become all fingers and thumbs. You might also get extremely ratty with anyone who gets in your way or asks stupid questions. Come on, is that fair?
