Unfortunately, to our liberal media, evening news shows, these people are Heroes. They wouldn't dream of profiling them in anything less than a heroic fashion.

I get so tired of these illegals likening themselves to immigrants of the past who came through legal channels. What unmitigated gall. What is it with these people, that they simply can't differentiate between right and wrong?
I agree that some immigrants are abusing the system and causing problems, but you cannot say all of the immigrants of the past came through legal channels. Many immigrants 80-100+ years ago came illegally, too. The word "WOP," which some people use as a slur against Italians, originally was used by immigration officials and cops and stood for "WithOut Papers."

I'm so glad that Carcieri took a stand. Illegal immigration is attributing to the depletion of our economy. It's a nationwide issue. If it's not affecting RI's budget, it will affect another states budget.
They try to corner us by saying that our forefathers were immigrants. This is true however they did this legally. It was survive without public welfare assistance or go back to your country. Our grandfathers came here with the shirts on their backs too risking their lives however they had no section eight, welfare, heating assitance, or foodstamps. I know several hispanics who are citizens, as they were born here from immigrants. They bring over a person of the opposite sex from their country of origin on a visiting visa, marry them for three years, then divorce them. During the three years, they have to meet w/ INS. They are asked questions about each other. They study questions and if its something they don't or may not know, they simply answer, I really don't know or I can't recall. They are typically paid between 5-6K by the person receiving the documentaiton. I know a woman (Dominican) from Providence now in her fifties who has done this four times...When will INS catch on? How much investigating does the INS do when they give out citizenship documentation???
