Buying a house in CF next week.

Hi everybody, grew up in Cumberland, living in NYC right now, buying a house in CF on Pacific street, going to spilt time between NYC and CF.
Gimme the skinny on CF. Even though I grew up not more than 5 miles away, I know very little about it.
What's good, bad, cool, fun. Where should I go to eat, shop take a walk, anything really.

Hi Mark,

I used to live in CF during the late 70's and early 80's but moved because the crime rate started to increase. I live in Lincoln now and am glad I moved out of CF. I hope you speak Spanish because most of the stores and population of CF are Hispanic. Also, as I stated earlier the crime rate is very high, the percentages of burglaries, robberies, assaults (including murders) has increased, and of course there are a lot of drug dealers. I don't mean to scare you but I felt I should be honest when describing CF. I used to love living there because the neighbors were friendly and you could walk almost anywhere in the city without any worries. There are still good people living there, but unfortunately, the bad ones seem to outnumber them.

As far as shopping, Cumberland has Stop And Shop and RT 1 in Attleboro, Mass. has hundreds of different stores on it. Attleboro is only 10 minutes from CF.
