My first liberal, near-automatic response to the school showdown in Central Falls was that, once again, teachers are being forced to deal with a load of overwhelming problems not of their making.

What is the problem? Is it the teach ers, union troubles, unable to h andle the p up ils? Here in Connecti cut all students in the high scool are being fined $100.00 for swearing ,wether at each other or at the teachers. I say it's about time. I attended CFHS i n the good old days with strict teachers and "beware the principal" although he was a nice man and fair but strict. We have brought up our children NOT to swear anywhee in or near the house and they warn their friends to watch their language hee. Why aren't all parents doing that, teaching their children . I think swea ring is lowering yourself image. I t hink there should be more rules and regulations to all students from kindergarten age through high school.
