Marie, you ignorant fool, this is not a bad area. I live in this area and most of us are all friendly with our neighbors and we look out for each other. Unfortunately, good people have to work and we all can't be crackheads and drug dealers sitting at home with nothing else to do. I know that if I would have had any idea of what was happening I would not have sat there and watched. I would've done anything I could to help him. I will bet people money that the cowardly crackheads who did this, probably are not even from the neighborhood. I would even go so far as to say that I wouldn't be surprised if they are not from Central Falls. CF has its bad neighborhoods and its good neighborhoods JUST LIKE ANY OTHER CITY OR TOWN IN ANY OTHER STATE! There are alot of good people here. Outsiders only hear about and focus on the bad.

I also agree with mindy but i also disagree too because yes CF is not a bad area but his neighbors should of helped him. My God that poor man. I dont know him or his family but my heart goes out to them and my prayers go out to them too. I'm a born and raised in rhode island but now i've been living in west virginia i miss rhode island but man has it been crazy ever since i've moved my family out of there. But i do hope with god willing they will catch those jerks for what they did to that poor man and his family. RIP One more thing to his neighbors i dont wish bad things to you's but i hope to god that nothing like that ever happens to your family but if it does i hope for your sake someone helps them or you better hope someone helps them.

I,M telling you people there was a time when central falls was one of the best places in r.i to live in truly it was, but today if you enter central falls you enter at your own risk my friend. take it from someone who lived on fuller ave for over 40 years, not from the people that screwed it up in the first place. O hows the mayors car show going? you know the one they have every year or should i say used to. with all them bullets flying around in day time hours mind you your lucky if you can walk to the store for bread and milk anymore. right little girl

Let's hope and pray that when these losers are caught that they receive a beating just like they gave this man. Kill a guy for a wallet? The problem with thugs like this is the color of their skin!!!!!!!!!!

The community has to look at itself and ask "why has it become so bad?" "What is different today vs. 20 years ago?" New people, lack of parenting, lack of morals, lack of prayer, De-Americanization??? The neighborhood is filthy, why not walk outside and pick up the trash in front of your house? Why paint the stores pink and yellow? Why change what is there to make it like the 3rd world country that was left behind? What are we doing this country we so desired to come to? We are making it the 3rd world coutry we left behind. I know I did not leave the Dominican Republic to fear I would be killed walking home from work. It angers me to see, people in my community being pigs, dirty, lazy and just plain out evil. Parents we need to come together in this city and teach love, peace, education, and how to be an American w/out of course leaving behind our heritage. The inner city violence will not get better until we learn plant the seeds and water them every day w/love then comes the flowers. One day CF and providence could be a high end city where Latinos and blacks prevail. But if we cannot learn to at least love one another, how can we go any further here????? We'll always be SECOND CLASS because of this.

Man from Glad....My parents have lived in Central Falls for 35 years. You are right CF had very good times when it was a safe neightborhod. Now I have lived there for 25 years and from the stories and pictures from my parents CF has changed a lot. No matter where you live in CF you have to becareful, back then you didn't. People are right there are "good sides" and there are bad sides" but you have to blame the people who moved into the city and sort of polluted CF. If it wasn't for those people CF would still be a good neighborhood. Let me tell you that there are still a few good people in CF and whenever something happens, even minor, they are the first ones to be on the phone with the police. Except some of the cops just don't care. They don't show up to the scence until 20 min after you call even though they are literally 5 min away, so what's the point?!

I was born and raised in RI, mainly Pawtucket and have had family living in CF all my life. There has been good times and bad times, but things like these can happen anywhere. I hope that the 2 scum bags that did this to my uncle get cought or beat down on the street like they deserve. My uncle was a kind man who worked hard for a living and to support his family. Cared dearly for his kids and his grandkids and the last thing that he deserved was to be beaten to death by 2 punks who have nothing better to do with their lives.

Ok here it is, what is up with all these comments about blacks. I lived in Cf for 23 years. It was not that bad when I lived there. There are many problems starting with the Mayor, police Dept., and all the city council. For 1 if Matthews was still in, Moran would not be Chief, and that is the problem. I have many freinds that still live in the city that are this so called blacks. Give it up already, when i was in high school we were all discrimated against because of this. Give it up. And the guy from Barrington, you need to look at your own town you got teen age kids getting drunk and killing people. Just becasue they have money there it should not be over looked. Yes i do feel ashameed at what happened. You need to blame the Mayor, and police chief. They need to stop taking kick backs and start paying more police officers to deter this things from happening. This should not be a race thing. this type of thing can happen anywhere no matter what color there skin is. I think the people in Cf need to stand up and vote for someone who can take care of this problem. What the mayor and Joe Moran need to do is get the state police involved, and ask them to step up there patrol in the area.

I have come to the conclusion, from reading all of "The Man From Glad's" posts, that he is a racist, small minded, idiot. Like I have said to him before in other forums and other posts, pay attention to the drunken teenagers killing each other because they have nothing better to do in your own town. Who are you to pass judgement on anything? Dumba$$!

i know why ri cities and towns are getting worse. it is because of a housing law that requires each town to set aside 10% of its housing for low income families. that's why you can find the projects in a affluent town like newport. i used to work in a housing assistance office so i know.
