If he leaves our Church then the Lord has called him away and how can we trust him!! Jesus help us. GOD made him our way of life, guidance, Sheriff....All respect gone. If so, a new Church I must find. Don't confuse my guidance by the Lord with Curtis, I knowy calling! Brother Curtis you must have lost yours! Please pray and reconsider!!

When the pastor turns his back on the lord. Its not a sheriffs job to council, its his job to protect the citizens that votes them in, even the addicts familys are not safe from them. There are things already set up in the system to help the addicts and it has little to do with the sheriffs dept. Protect the innocent first, try to help the addicts for their familys sake second. Its a rehabs job not a sheriffs. God help us if a pastor that turned his back on the lord gets a sheriffs position!

He will never turn his back on God or church! He is just not going to pastor a church! He will always preach because that is what he LOVES to do! He was an evangelist for quite a few years anyway. I am so sick of the stupid people who are saying he has turned his back on the church. If you think that is so then you don't know Curtis too well so you shouldn't post stuff on here anyway.

I attend curtis's church and you are not a part of it. Our church supports him fully. You are most likely a drug dealer and you afraid he is going to be elected or you were prompted to start this thread because of some coaxing.(More dirty politics that will backfire on Eddy, if he put you up to this.)
Curtis explained to us that God often calls men in ministry to leadership poisitions and gave several examples, David, Solomon, Daniel, Abraham, Joseph and etc.
Are you so unlearned that you didnt not know that this is Muhlenberg County? This county was named after a preacher that became a political leader. Curtis has also told us that he has 6 revivals, and several other preaching engaements after the first of the year. So when he leaves our church he will be preaching more than he was when he was a pastor. I think that is cool.
I might also add that the home is more important than the church, of course if you knew the Bible you would know this. By keeping residents safe, caring for the safety of children, he will in fact being doiong the Lord's work. Every soldier, every law enforecemt officer does the Lord's work.
If you were in his church youi could spell his name. It is McGehee. Not mcgeehe, you spell like a dope dealer.
How could anyone be against helping children other than a dope dealer?

I have remained neutral and continue to do so at this point. This is a close race. I do feel it is unfortunate that these types of negative comments are being made about Curtis. He has a right as any of us do, preacher or not to pursue his dreams, desire, or calling. I am not for him but I cannot and would not say that I know what god wants him to do. I dont think any of you should use such harshness.
Eddy and Curtis are both wonderful people. May the best man for the job get it.

The republican party, the true religious folk? Last time I checked there are people are both ends that either believe or don't believe. I guess its because Democrats are liberal and Republicans are conservative. If you knew anything about politics you would know there are also liberal republicans and conservative democrats. Also republican started out in the history of the US as liberal. Being part of a certain political party doesn't make you any more religious than any other person on the planet.

I think McGehee is doing something even better here by trying to make the county better, not only with promises and words, but by doing so physically. Too many people preach about how bad this county is and hardly ever actually strive physically to make it better. Anyone can get involved, most just choose to turn their backs. I guess if its already bad enough, no sense in trying to fix it.

I think race is close between preacher and eddie. But if you dont think republicans will support curtis you are out of touch. Republicans often elect ministers for public servants.

Silly democrate we could never vote a priest into office. Liberal, you said it yourself scissorwhatever. liberal meaning lacksed, accepting, no matter what you do or think it is ok. Our community needs help,we are suppose to be helping one another not gossiping about one another. If brother Curtis feels he needs to run for Sheriff i believe that God has called him to do so, if its not God calling then he probably wont be ellected.As a pastor Bro. Curtis has helped a bunch of us including me to show us how we can go about accepting God into our hearts and I was one of those dope deallers so getting me off the streets and into his church has helped this community more then you know.
