Topix could be a great site. Currently any of us can get on it and say anything we wish, truth or not (and more not than truthful). We can slander people, criticize anything we wish, say anything all under the cloak of anomitity. It would be very interesting if we could leave our opinion along with our name (and/or e-mail address). This would keep most discussions more honest (and a bunch of people would probably leave it). What's your thoughts (and be sure to vote)?

anomitity, is the best part of these topix forums. if i could find a proxy that would show "topix" i would say alot more. please feel free to leave your email address.

Free speech is important. Anonymous free speech isn't. If speech was truly free, then why are defamation lawsuits allowed? At least Fred Phelp and his "nano-nutcakes" of the Westboro Baptist Church show who they are.

Look at the difference between Facebook and Topix. On Facebook, everyone has to identify themselves so you mostly see positive comments.
Because of lack of identity, it's just the opposite on here. Everyone is entitled to their opinion but to share it you should have to identify yourself (yeah, I know...that even includes me).

i dont know everyone is so worked up on knowing whos on here i would want to know who was typing crap about me but it could do harm when someone gets the hell beat out of them or worse (not that they wouldnt deserve it) but this forum is abused its a gossip site where people come to scar others start rumurs and basically entertain themselves not givin a name can allow those with something to say but afraid to speak a chance to do so also though if your reading some smut about someone that comes from a no named source just dont put that much belief in it until you look into it further so before you call your friends telling them the latest news think about were its coming from

I agree this is fun to read but I don't believe most of any thing anyone says on this site

If we had to leave our e-mail address then people would be more careful about their facts and who they attack on here.
