I saw chap 8 in the region H plan, 273 level, 284 dam elevation. so 1/2 mile buffer or more at the 284 level. over 125,000 acres taken or impacted. this will be flood control. I don't understand where is the madison county effort to stop this. why is brazos and grimes against this and not us. we have poor leadship in our county. none of the commissioners or public officials attended this meeting. they are laying over and playing dead. we need to wake up in our county and help the other counties stop millican.

carin -- get with the either the leon or madison county region h reps and have them show you on a map. they voted for this 4 mos ago and if they voted for it, must know where 283 elevation is on your property. also remember the 1/2 plus buffer zone. from your concern, you may be under water or in the buffer zone

there is no water front properties with any new reservoir construction. too much liability for the river authorities and they must protect the inflows. no water or oil wells within one mile. no septic system of anykind near the reservoir. the BRA is not going to do any high dollar projects and not protect the water coming into the lake. folks got to stop looking at lake conroe, they stop doing this stuff in the 70's.

folks talk about desalination at the freeport plant, this is 850 cost per acre ft, whereas millican is 425 an acre and bedias is 250 an acre. also the cost of pumping north with desalination adds another 100 per acre ft. other alternatives would be enlarging allens creek or bedias reservoirs. they were in the 2001 plan

I did not see any of the river authorites board members at the meeting. They build reservoirs, and should have a map of Millican with the 1/2 mile buffer included

Even if your behind he dam, they will buy up the land all way to HWY 30 for mitigation and land from the end of the lake to Limestone for mitigation. Three acres of mitigation for very one acre taken out of circulation. Mitigation and legal will tie this up for years, but it will get built, we are so behind in building new reservoirs, the catch up is coming

we need new board members for Leon and Madisonville, they done enough damage already.
We need to get together with our county judges
nominate new board members, as these don't
represent the views of our area.

I will do my best to get these local board members kicked off region H. they knew about this many many months ago, but failed to let out a peep. shame on them. this won't happen again.

thanks to the local media for all its coverage, as they had to dig and dig to get info from the board members

we don't want the bundic site. 280 elevation, then 1/2 mile buffer zone taken. It will be a terrible situation to get the bundic project. Way more land taken in Madison co if the move the dam north.

Please get everyone educated on this project. There are NO water front lots. This lake is disaster for all of the counties involved.Everyone that isnt covered in water will have to carry the tax burden of the poor people who lost their land and got screwed by the corp by condeming their land.I do not own the land that will be condimed, however I do own a house in Bryan. MY TAX BASE IS HIGH ENOUGH NOW!
