Thanks. The current Sheriff's term expires next year, I believe. I won't be running at the end of that term, but at the end of the next one.

A Reserve Officer's program is exactly what is needed in any Department. A Citizens Academy and a Volunteer Program is also needed.

I have a lot of changes that I would implement in the Sheriff's Department to include the use of a lot of the citizens of Hickman County.

I have quite a bit of experience in Law Enforcement, Corrections and the Courts.

I know people that that live in Hickman county that are more than qualified to be a deputy/officer and have passed the police academy, but make more money and have better benifits than a small department can provide. They want to give up their own time to work as a reserve officer/deputy. But they are told that no program is available. Or told that the county legislative body wont allow a program. However there are "special deputies" and reserve officers/deputies that "dont exist" when you ask. Basicly friends of someone, and now they have a commision card/badge and a weapon, but you never see them.

Most of the current rescue squad is a joke. They have so many that are are the squad that you never see. You always see the same few helping. It is time for new leadership, and new blood in the squad.
