I don't understand the difference between "Donated" and "Sell"!?!?!? If there was an agreement about the statue being moved, then show me in writing the agreement. Give her back the city.

I think we have more to worry about here in Centerville other than a statute of someone one who made it big, if being Minnie Pearl is making it big. I say let him keep the statute and if Hickman Co.has $10,000 extra dollars used it on something worthwhile for a change

there is a much better statue of Minnie Pearl in a garage in Hopkinsville ky..it was commissioned by the country music hall of fame and was never paid for...i bet the family who owns it (sculptor now dead) would sell it cheap or maybe even give it to the county. i saw in a few years ago when purchasing a Jaguar from the family...its MUCH better and done by a real artist than the one that sat on the rock in town...

besides sarah cannon made a fortune making fun of centerville and its people..she never gave a dime back to the community...NOTHING, never attended a homecoming game, she an John J. Hooker built a "minnie pearl" restaurant to try to make a buck off folks here...but as far as giving back to the community..never happened.

I don't think the statue is going to save the square even if it was given back. The city needs to sell it for scrap metal and put the money in the general fund.
