dude, look UP, it's Nov. 30th. incase u didn't know, there happens to be ALOT going on in the community the month before Christmas... and having it that early also gives a little time left to reschedule if need be due to our crazy a$$ weather around here!!

I quit taking my kids to the parade. It's a joke. all they see is people's cars/suv that have 22in rims on it with loud and rude music, motorcycles, bands from other states, and no freaking floats. come on people the kids love the floats. How in the he** do they judge a rolling radio anyway. I just let them watch the rose parade instead at least they see what a real parade looks like.

I take my son every year and he loves it!:) To those of you that think the parade is such a joke maybe you should make an awesome float and make a diference? Instead of spreading negative words!

Are they going to televise the parade on channel 4? If so what day and time? Isa think they should do it live. My daughter is sick so therefore we can't go.

Newbern does have a better parade. My son was in both of them for years and I always enjoyed Newbern's more. It goes to the point, bands, floats, and some vehicles. Every Ton, Dick, and Harry's tractors and rides are not in it. Dyersburg is like hey let's ride in the parade instead of watching it, and do. I also love to see the kids getting the candy. They are so funny to watch.

oo I guess if we wait the band can be marching in the snow are rain and the crowd can get splashed by the zillion cars in the parade. Yes I stopped going because it isn't a parade, but now I go only to watch my child march in it. Has soon has she passes I'm gone. Maybe there would be more floats if they didn't charge to be in it. I mean what money is the city out anyway having a parade. Where is all that money going. If it is for trophies, get cheaper ones. I would love to build a float for the parade, I mean can just a plain citizen put one in there?

i didn't know they charged folks to be in the parade. How much? My son was in the band and that's what I did during Dburg parade but in Newbern I stayed, cause like I said they get to the point. In Newbern hot choc is served and it was a pleasure to drink hc and talk to the kids. the hc is served in the elementary school and it's free.

i went tonight. i didnt see anything really special. i know its more for the kids but i was there supporting it as well. i dont have a child and i went out. i went to newberns last year and at least they served everyone hot cocoa for free. tonight it was a pathetic attempt to make money. there were people selling cotton candy, light sabers and other stuff. if it is all in the spirit of christmas then have something for free you can give to every child there. since you have to pay a fee to be in the parade i think that is where the money should go. do something for the kids even if it is small. it is a real effort to bring your babies out in this freezing weather and its not fair if one parent buys their kids something and then a child whose parents cant afford to buy them something is watching and disappointed. i say cut out the selling of toys altogether if you cant give to the children there.
