Mart conned me in 2008 and 2009, convincing me he needed money to save his house being forclosed. Regretibly I loaned him $2300. I feel like I was conned.
He is married;but as I found out, he lied.

he used me in 1998 so he has been playing this game for a long time. he tried to get money from me, also, said he had cancer and was losing his business because he couldn't work. I was so in love with him and he nearly destroyed by life. stay away from this man at all costs. and yes, he is married.

Well, not only was he arrested and charged, he apparently either pled guilty or no contest to assault when it went to hearing. He was fined, given a 180 day suspended jail sentence, and 2 years probation. Not nearly enough justice for the women he has used, abused, assaulted, traumatized, scammed and conned. WOW how many more are out there???? Listen up ladies..just a little of what he told me....He was in the cia working overseas on computers he would be gone weeks at a time...so he couldn't call me ..when I did call him......he would say they are really mad here..but they let me call you so I have to make it short...and...I just got back from taking 68 members of my family to disney world..you been ?? no I reply well I will take you... I also want you to meet my friends so lets go to the bar (this was last year in March ) and you can meet them and we can watch basketball.. so I said "well that sounds more like a "guy thing" h e said no no ....then calls me half hour later and tells me "oh ya it is just for the guys".....I want to take you out to dinner ...then calls and tells me he can't make it..Calls me one day like he is flying an airplane..does all the stuff a pilot would do..... shows me pictures of him in Iraq ....sure didn't look like him.....shows me pictures of his newly remolded bedroom bathroom....tells me his daughter is a doctor at childrens hospital.... tells me has built motorcycles for the stars.. he is only doing cable work to help his nephew get started in the business....then he is going to retire and build motorcycles...tells me a younger gal lived with him and duped him out of thousands of dollars...he said he gave her his credit card..... tell's me women keep making the same mistakes....he talks in circles..if you disagree with him he tells you that you have a problem or that you are crazy and need to be on medication or "What kinda meds you taken??" makes you feel like you are nuts..when believe me it is really him....also told me he owned homes two or three for the MRDD folks and one man he had helped to be on his own ..Mart had bought him a house and took him out to eat every week and he even told me that the movie "RAINMAN" was made after this fellow.. Any of you other gals out there does this sound familair???? Let me know...and THANKS to those that have responded...

This is actually the second time he has been charged and pled guilty or no contest to assault. The first time was in Circleville, Ohio, in 2008 (for an incident that occurred in December 2007). He got a year's probation for that one. In the case from 2008, the original charge was sexual imposition, but he pled guilty to assault. In the most recent incident in November 2012, he was charged with both sexual imposition and assault. The sexual imposition charge was dismissed, but he pled guilty or no contest to assault. Ladies, be careful with this man. Based on what SLB said, he's been at this a long time.

It is the same person, claiming cancer is one of the ways he tries to get money from women - he told me he was dying of colon cancer back in 1998 - and he clearly is still alive and kicking and making every woman he meets miserable. I would love to know how many are out there.

Your story sounds exactly like mine - but happended a few years later. Fortunately, I never spent much time with him. Just phone calls and emails mostly. His symptoms sound exactly like those of a sociopath.

Even though they often come across as charming and sociable individuals, sociopaths are unable to live within society's cultural norms, and they repeatedly lie, manipulate others for their own gain and inflict pain on people. Recover from a relationship with a sociopath by establishing distance, giving yourself time and seeking therapy.

Unfortunately, I did not learn a lesson from Mart, I had to learn from my own relationship with Eric Stamper from Middletown. Sociopaths are usually very smart. Even Eric recognized that he didn't behave normally, but he defended himself by saying he had PTSD from his time in the service. If you know this person or someone who knows him, warn them that he has this disorder, and to STAY AWAY.

Amazed YES this is the SAME man if you can call him a man....I had a flag go up not too long after starting to talk to him ..he had me soooooo fooled..Thanks for your reply..yourfriendjayne would love to hear from you .She was the first to reply to me after I put his name on this site.. and they just keep coming.....Hope your doing well now....This is for SLB also.....thanks for the info on the other guy .......Mart is back on POF I contacted him and asked if he could post a picture and he gave me this long spue .and he said he was interested in meeting me..Guess he forgot me allready FUNNY.....I told him I wouldn't talk to anyone that wouldn't post a photo...go figure..I still have his phone calls on my answering machine just in case I ever need them...

Yes, this man is a sociopath, as well as a narcissist. Per public records, he has assaulted at least 2 women and should be consdiered dangerous. I am aware of, have had contact with, and have the personal testimony of another 4 women who he conned out of large sums of money...with a story of colon cancer and/or brain cancer and no insurance for treatment or a story of his house being foreclosed and the imminent threat of being homeless. This man has been operating on dating sites such as Plenty of Fish since at least 2007 and has left a string of scammed and traumatized women behind him. He has shpwn no remorse for his actions and when his scam is discovered, he simply says you are crazy, cuts off contact, and moves to the next woman. He is very manipulative but can be extremely charming and captivating. Anything he tells you should be considered as suspect, he has a fabulous imagination and detailed stories. I guess I was lucky. I met him on POF in 2011. He told me he didn't have a pic on line because his beliefs were that every time his picture was taken it stole a piece of his soul. He gave me the cancer story and told me he had raised his niece and nephew. He never asked me for money but sure had a lot of different stories and excuses about things. I finally told him to leave me alone and blocked him from my online accounts and cell phone when he started acting like he might become violent. Doesn't surprise me that he didn't get a harsher sentence. Men preying on women seem to have a lot of rights in this state.
