Too bad Kelly Kohls isn't who you make her out to be. We'd all be better off if that were the case. Instead, she racked up over $800,000 in debt and walked away from it like an irresponsible coward. No wonder she fits in so well with the tea bagger clan of Jack Chrisman, Doug Weiterman, Donna Campbell, Linda Ota, and Cathy Ansbaugh! If only they made a prison cell big enough for them all....
Petty attacks on Mrs. Kohls reveal the dearth of ideas that exist on the other side.

The opposition once again fails to take the opportunity to define their disagreement with Mrs. Kohls.

Rather, we are entertained with a personal smear campaign as opposed to actual ideas that may benefit the 2000 plus children mired in a system that is failing to provide them the education they were promised.

Taxpayers are hoodwinked into thinking everything is wonderful in Candyland by the careful use of semantics to paper over failure. Much like George Orwell's "1984", a classic tome against the socialist mentality, the public has been fed news the schools believe they want to hear. The truth is much more taxing, thus a new form of communication, DOUBLESPEAK emerges. The definition from the official party manual in the book reads as such:

" The keyword here is blackwhite. Like so many Newspeak words, this word has two mutually contradictory meanings. Applied to an opponent, it means the habit of impudently claiming that black is white, in contradiction of the plain facts. Applied to a Party member, it means a loyal willingness to say that black is white when Party discipline demands this. But it means also the ability to believe that black is white, and more, to know that black is white, and to forget that one has ever believed the contrary. This demands a continuous alteration of the past, made possible by the system of thought which really embraces all the rest, and which is known in Newspeak as doublethink. Doublethink is basically the power of holding two contradictory beliefs in one's mind simultaneously, and accepting both of them. "

The message of fiscal conservatism or fiscal responsibility cannot be allowed to stand if those who put themselves before our children are to prevail.

The messenger of such tidings must be destroyed if the true edict of strength through wanton spending is to reign. How else can the public be expected to accept failure as success? Irresponsible spending as husbanding of resources for the greater good? Or the desire for more personal wealth for altruism?

2000 plus children are failing in this district year in and year out.

No amount of petty attacks on proponents of reform will change that salient point.

Our children deserve better.

We demand better.

Sounds like your problem with Kelly Kohls is simply because your radical rules of ridicule have been unable to force her to walk away from her successful service to our school children and community.

Mrs. Kohls is committed to ensuring that the children of the Springboro community receive an excellent education, while keeping the costs of that education affordable, by carefully adhering to responsible spending.

This ran for some time during the levy campaign, the information seems to bear out in the fire departments own annual reports. What's up with this nonsense now I read in the Springboro Sun?
Staffing levels that were put into place by the current levy began in 2005, the first year everything the 2001 levy promised was in place and servicing the community.
Fire Department calls are up but 5.4% from 2005 ( the first year all of the improvements from the current levy were first in place) to 2012.

2005.....2589 calls
2006.....2629 calls
2007.....2792 calls
2008.....3035 calls

2010.....2795 calls
After they added 12 new full time firefighters and 3 new administrators with SAFER money
2011.....2897 calls
2012.....2735 calls

Fire, EMS, and SAFER revenues and expenses according to our fiscal officer Ms. Oda. Send her a note and ask for them, she seems very nice and transparent in her duties.

Until the township began to spend the FREE money that comes from the government stimulus program artificially fighting unemployment by bloating the union rolls without asking the taxpayers, we were fine.

By my calculation you put $437,000 in surplus funds in the bank in 2012.
2011 you put $171,000 in surplus into the fire and ambulance funds..
2010 you put $110,000 in surplus into the fire and ambulance funds
2009 you put $190,000 in surplus into the fire and ambulance funds
2008 you put $95,000 in surplus into the fire and ambulance funds.

There should be term limits on any elected office. Wade has been in office for 34 years. He seems to think that Clearcreek is his own fiefdom and he can spend and use the tax money as he pleases. He seems to hire many people with high salaries and benefits to obtain their loyalty. They went out and worked for his candidate, his levy and his agenda. He gives $250,000 of township money to Springboro for a park. How much more has he given to Springboro? He buys land at a price far above local prices from a crony that he get elected to the board. How convenient. It's two against one level headed woman on the board. He rehires Pickett who is now a double dipper? Citizens need to stop by the township hall and see if anyone is ever at work. Yes, they do draw their salaries, but where are they? Oda now has two offices to run and collects a nice salary for each. Is that legal? With anyone in office for 34 years - corruption is sure to run rampant. Check the numbers. Where does the money go. Also do the Clearcreek residents really want to pay for Springboros bills? I don't think so, if they only knew the facts that are kept under wraps.

There are term limits on politicians, they are called elections. If you wish to change the incumbent you have every right to do so, just don't be surprised when that incumbent fights back.

The fire department lays off 3 firemen of the 12 extra they hired through a grant from Homeland Security to enhance union rolls and this is cause for consternation?

They are still overstaffed and need to replenish their part time ranks.

not the same...once an incumbent has been in office a number of terms, he/she has influent to "buy" votes..a huge advantage of a new comer. And the "buy votes" symptom is happening here in warm and cheerful springboro area....to deny it is tomfoolery. Hint...Agenbroad and Wade..enuf said.

Duh, do you think Mr Kidd should have a chat with his boss Wade, and Anspach, before making any so called cuts at any fire station? As in the DDN today, Wade says he was never was told about any cuts or closing. WTH, who is running the show here Kidd or the trustees? Now Mr Kidd says he will not lay off any firemen or close any fire houses. Duh, now from here on out can we really trust this man to tell us the truth? Just one more reason to VOTE NO AGAIN this November.
PS, If he is broke like he claims how is he paying all these 72 people.
