We rented a home at least a week every summer near Indian Trail. We always met great people and my kids have great memories of the beach. My daughter is on the deanís list at college now and my son, only 19, is employed by a Fortune 500 company. He unfortunately recently suffered a heart attack. He is on the road to recovery and soon will be returning to work. He mentioned that he would love to go back to that beach for a day or two, becaue all the beaches here in Connecticut just donít compare. He has such great memories of the low tides and scavenger hunting on the beach. The house we always rented has been sold, and at 19 he could not rent a hotel room, so I suggested they do like we used to occasionally and camp on the beach. He and his girlfriend and another couple thought that was a great idea. They parked on Homestead and carried everything down the big hill. They had such a great time. There is no one on the beach there ever, so they knew they would not disturb anyone. 10:30 p.m., here come the police trecking down the trail. Apparently someone complained. I find this hard to believe. The houses on the cliff had to be at least 300 feet away. There is no way they could have disturbed anyone. The police tell them they have 2 hours to get out. So now here I am back in Connecticut worried to death about him hauling stuff up and down the hill in the middle of the night. Not only that, now he has to drive almost 3 hours home. What if he had another attack? What if they would have gotten into an accident? All because some dick couldnít mind his own business. I will make sure I can get as many people as I can now to go to that beach. You can kiss your secret haven goodbye. Donít think you can just leave your kayaks down by the water and no one will disturb them. I will post everywhere I can for people to go to this deserted beach. They can just set their GPS to the intersection of Homestead and Indian Trail. You will notice a little path that goes down to the beach. Then you miserable complainer can sit and call the police all day long and tell them someone is disturbing you. I hope you are happy. Next time something bad happens to you, you can bet it is payback. Did you ever hear what comes around goes around? These kids werenít bothering anyone - just trying to enjoy nature. Thanks. I will be laughing at you when the rest of the hill erodes and your house tumbles into the ocean!
