In this article after losing by a more than two to one vote Centerville School District Superintendent Richard Turner states and I quote.

"I think just that people did not understand the issue,"

Who is having comprehension issues here mr. turner ?
Who is it that continues to defy the will of the majority of the eligible voters ?

The article then proceeds to falsely state ,
"The voters approved the PPEL ballot in 1990 and 2000."

No they did not !
The fact is it was voted down , it did not pass until it was slimed through a second time with a small support and very little public notification when the voters were caught with their guard down !

From what mr. turner stated in the article that is precisely what they will attempt to do once again.

"Turner said the school board will take a look at the issue at its next regular meeting on Sept. 28. If the board decides, December would be the soonest it could call for another election."

And this arrogant jerk claims we are the ones having comprehension issues !!!

In the same article mr. turner also made this threatening statement.

"One option all school districts in Iowa have is the authority to IMPOSE a 33 cent per $1,000 of assessed value of taxable property for PPEL without approval by the voters through resolution, Turner said."

I have a couple of suggestions for YOU mr. turner.
Instead of IMPOSING a tax on us so you can take our money against our will and blow it like an out of control manure spreader !
Why dont you instead try a couple of the following ideas instead.

Recently the Iowegian ran an article stating that many of those teachers & coaches who would benefit from this money grab are making from 60 to 80 grand a year and up !
Why dont you IMPOSE upon them that they will need to take a cut in pay to help out during this situation ?

After all it wouldnt take that much of a cut off of what they are currently making to meet the $240,000 shortfall you claim you will now be having.

Then to help cut down on the wear and tear of those buses you were so concerned about I suggest you IMPOSE upon the parents of students involved in activities those buses are always running up and down the road to attend , that they will have to fire up the mini van and transport their little snowflakes themselves.
IMPOSE upon them that WE the taxpayers are tired of carrying the load.

Oh, and while IMPOSING this upon the above parties , you might also remind them "its for the children" , I am sure that will help them understand.

Then finally, while your undertaking these tasks, you might keep imposing this little reminder to yourself , ITS THE ECONOMY STUPID !
