They are dictators . They have the power to legislate . They have the power to enforce . They have the power to tax . When a D. A. was asked to prosecute a sole county commissioner he answered : Do you think I would prosecute the man that sets my budget ? Something needs to be done .

You may ask , What does that have to do with me? The answer is a sole county commissioner is headed to chair the Association of County Commissioners of Georgia in 2010 .This man is a bad influence on the Association .

I lived up there and know Mr. Lamar Paris . He is a tax and spend commissioner , or worse , a spend and tax commissioner . He passes ridiculous ordinances for the sole purpose of having control over the citizens . If any one dare challenge the man , he calls on the powers in office to pressure that person or group of people until they move away .

He formed a LLC and can buy and sell county property without anyones permission. Makes multi million dollar loans to buy property at 5 times its value from his friends and states "sue me T'll take your own tax money and break you in court" Hope he dosen't teach your leaders how to steal your tax money while he heads the ACC.

Spitfire : do you know how many counties are left that have only one commissioner ? Also , Is the one county commissioner ruler legal according to Georgia constituion ?

Sole County Commissioners are unconstitutional. This Lamar Paris has a bad reputation. Wasn't he investigated by Richard Belchar from channel 2? In his county, Lamar has more power than President Obama. And he uses it. He is ruthless and has been plagued with ethics complaints and corruption charges. He should not chair the Assoc. of County Commissioners. That is a very influential group! Lamar Paris should be stopped!

I agree. There are only 9 Sole Commissioners left in all the United States and all of them in GA. They should be outlawed. And I've heard of this Lamar Paris. He has no place leading that committee. He has no place leading a county for that matter. He has already nearly bankrupted the county after 8 years.

Can or will the G.B.I. investigate corruption on that grand of scale ? Why has such as this been ignored for so long ? The citizens of Georgia should grab the bull by the horns or the crooks by the neck and put a stop to the missuse of public funds and abuse of the elected offices .

I live two counties over from Union County where King Lamar Paris presides. Everyone calls him Lying Lamar Paris. Sole County Commissioners are bad things and Lamar is the worst of them.

Lamar Floyd Paris, Sole County Commissioner must be defeated! When he takes over the Association of County Commissioners he plans to make a big push for legislation that would establish sole county commissioners in every county.
