hate to BREAK the NEWS but the UMWA is dead....long past are the days of old. In the 70's and 80's the union was strong but due to the rank and file missing work, not do their jobs and sleeping they buried themself. If you were current with the time you would know the UMWA doesn't exist in Western Kentucky. Hell the district 23 office is located in Illinois.

by the way you need to learn to spell. You could apply for a OBAMA GRANT.........get you some stimulus!

Nope, not by a long shot. I use to be a proud UMWA member. Was raised in a proud home of UMWA member. I know what I'm talking about. I'm one of those individuals who worked years in the mines(still do) but unable to draw any benefits because my fellow brothers shut the mines down due to their antic's.
An example of a system gone wrong: A fellow worker got caught SLEEPING 4 times in one month.(1)verbal warning (2) written warning (3) suspension for 3 days (4) terminated.

The union pulled out on strike. I lost two(2) weeks pay. Sleepy got his job back with back pay. You tell me! What's wrong with this?

Hundreds of people lost wages, company lost production and profit so one lazy ass could get paid to sleep.

I agree it had its share problems and they got out of hand. That seems to be all people remember. No one remembers poeple died to get the unions. No one remembers the standard of living was better.

i worked with alot of umwa workers at a non union mines they dont care to work next to scabs when the union jobs are down the umwa started out a good thing but thanks to a few its not all that yes it has its perks but my scab ass and rat children wont have to eat bread and i dont have to pay some union to help keep my job cause i want to lay around on my dead ass all day . umwa woman you dont need a union if you work in a mine cause you hae a vagina that alone will keep you a job so dont worry about our scab asses and our standard of living we do just fine and dont even have to cry cause we got a job you think you should pay a union to hold for your holier than thou asses

No I doubt that it is Chris, but this is his wife. Little do you know Chris has not drank in over a year, nor do I drink anymore either. Second, why would he post anything about this, he is not affliated with the mines in any way. So, whomever this is must not talk to either of us.:) And thank God for that, we dont need the negative(naysayers) around us.

Daily Horoscope for December 31

Sagittarius

You're in a strange mood, Sagittarius. You're feeling impatient and cross, and nothing is quite right. No wonder, with Mercury and Mars retrograde, under a Full Moon lunar eclipse! But is it necessary to be quite so contrary, so determined to do the opposite of what's expected of you? Try to sort out the problem sooner rather than later, then do something energetic and therapeutic so you can burn off your nervous energy. Then you're all set for a great New Year's Eve!
