Each State has different Laws.
Florida you can purchase a Firearm with showing your drivers license, other states there is a 3 day waiting period. New York you need to apply for a license.
You don't like the Laws, Move out of state to where the laws suit your personal opinions.

NY YORK SHOULD LEGALIZE FIREWORKS WITH CERTAIN RESTRICTIONS. THERE ARE LAWS THAT ARE IN AFFECT RIGHT NOW THAT ARE OUTDATED. FOR EXAMPLE YOU CANNOT TRANSPORT THESE ITEMS BUT YOU CAN LIGHT THEM WITH A SPECIAL PERMIT AND $50,000 WORTH OF INSURANCE. BUT THERE IS NOT ONE INSURANCE COMPANY THAT WOULD SELL YOU THIS POLICY. WHAT THE STATE SENETORS SHOULD DO IS HAVE IT MANDATORY THAT YOU TAKE A CLASS FOR FIREWORKS SAFTEY AND A REGISTRATION SYSTEM SO THAT YOU ARE ALOUD TO PURCHASE AND IGNITE FIREWORKS. THE STATE WOULD MAKE MONEY ON THE FEE FOR IT. WHICH SHOULD NOT BE MORE THEN $40.00 AND THEN THEY WOULD GET REVENUE FROM THE SALE OF THE PRODUCT. CONTACT YOUR LOCAL SENATOR AND GET ON THERE CASE THE FINES FOR CELEBRATING THE BIRTH OF OUR NATION ARE WAY TO SEVER.

LEGALIZE FIREWORKS EVERWHERE. DON'T LET THE IDIOTS THAT BLOW OFF A FEW FINGERS AND START ONE OR TWO FIRES EACH YEAR RUIN ALL THE FUN FOR EVERYONE. ITS AN AMERICAN TRADITION THAT IS DISAPPEARING THANKS TO THE MINORITY THAT SAY "NO" B/C A COUPLE PEOPLE GET HURT AND A FEW FIRES ARE STARTED. THE PEOPLE THAT GET HURT DESERVE IT B/C THEY ARE IDIOTS THAT DON'T THINK.

Many years ago I lived on Long Island and even deliverd Newsday as a paper boy so I have a special affinity for you folks. This affinity, however, does not extend to officials, particularly from New York City, which sensationalize fireworks. On the same token, I agree that someone who abuse them should face the consequences. If you would bear with me, I'd like to explain the truth about consumer fireworks. Every year we see a law enforcement official blow up a watermelon or mannequin with an ashcan, cherry bomb, or silver salute and use this as justification to ban all consumer fireworks. How clever, since the federal government has banned these EXPLOSIVES since 1966. Even firecrackers have explosive content of 50mg of powder instead of the pre-1976 limit of 130mg. This is hardly the type of item to blow off a finger as many authorities would like to have you believe. 1976 was the year that the federal government via the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) established strict safety standards for consumer fireworks. Most of these fireworks come from China and the CPSC even has a presence there to monitor quality. Since 1976, fireworksa use is up 871% and injuries down 90%. Death related injuries from fireworks are higher in states that ban fireworks than in those that don't (0.18 per million as opposed to 0.14 per million). The United States Fire Commission states that properly operated electrical equipment cuuses more fires than fireworks. Basketball, bicycles, tableware, golf, and candles, to name a few, have HIGHER mortality rates than fireworks. The National Fire Protection Association NFPA) likes to pointout the dangers of fireworks. This is an organization which includes people who die in auto accidents to and from a fireworks display as a "fireworks related death". Safe and sane (ground based) fireworks would probably have been legal this year on Long Island and the most of the state had it not been for opposition from NYC officials which seem to want to dictate policy for the rest of the state. The bill even provided for a continued ban in the city. Licenses would have been checked by fireworks stores and nothing sold to NYC residents but they were still concerned that these residents would purchase fireworks from Long Island and upstate and bring them into the city. Todays fireworks are not those that caused our 1940 ban. I would urge you to contact your elected officials and urge repeal of a ban still followed by only 5 states.

Another awesome story reported by Newsday. It should have been written with some FACTS Such as:
Both defendants had prior records. Giorgio previously pled guilty to 2 counts of unrelated charges in Nassau County, and Miner still has pending charges against him.
June 9th they were both processed in Central Islip. Joseph Miner was released on his own recognizance while Giorgio had to post 1,025 dollars and was released.
get facts straight you dummy get a life while your at it your mother should have swallowed you
