After I made a $1,000 downpayment, they approved me for a 2005 dodge magnum, then AutoWorld called me a week later to tell me I wasn't approved, and said that I could have a KIA. If I am not approved for 1 car why can they put me in another car? I thought the approval is based on your credit and not on the type of car you want. I returned the car on 8/7/2009, expecting a refund on that same day, but AutoWorld told me to come on 8/14/2009 to pick up an issued refund check and when I went on the 14th, they told me it has been mailed out already. Today is September 14th, 2009 and I haven't received anything in the mail yet. Do not do business with DANIELLE, she LIES about EVERYTHING!

I was shopping around for a vehicle with my wife. We went to the Auto World dealer in Patchogue.(That was the fist mistake). We looked at a few vehicles and decided we were interested in a 2005 Dodge Durango. Unsure what the truck would cost I spoke to the salesman "Jake" (OK, like that is real name). The fist question was "how good is your credit"?(All I was looking for was the price for the vehicle), so I played his game. I had $4000 as a deposit and no trade in. He told me he would do a credit check and he would be able to give me a "special" price.(I knew what that meant) My credit was not in the best of shape but still hopeful for a loan.
After submitting all my personal information and 3 hours later he comes out with the keys for the truck and we go for a test ride. After diving a few miles I knew the truck needed brakes, tires, side view mirror and some instruments needed repair. He assured me all would the issues would be repaired.
So we sat down in the loudest showroom I have been ever in. The music was blasting that I could barley here myself talk. I asked that he lower the music and informed me that he was unable to do that.(It was to protect others privacy by not listening to the other dirty deals that were going on).Anyway he comes with a price of $14,000.00 with a payment of $389 a month.(With my deposit) I simply said no and I walked. He tried to get me into another vehicle of lesser value and not functional for my family.
I went home that night and I looked at their web site and found that same exact truck in the lot VIN was that same and everything for the price of $7999.00. I was pissed; I went to the dealer the next day and confronted him of the scam. He told me that the price he gave me was due to my credit. I asked if I came up another $4000.00 would I be able to purchase the vehicle in cash as advertised in the web site and they told me no.
I ended up leaving and shouting so everyone in the building could hear that this dealer was a scam.

Stay away from AutoWorld! They are crooked and liars. I bought an alarm system from them and they had me bring to another dealership that they said was their sister dealership. I dropped the car off on Monday to have the alarm installed and was told it would be a 2 hour job. I was then called later that afternoon and told it wouldnt be ready until tomorrow. The next day came and I was called again and told that the car would need one more day. I finally came on day 3 to pick up the car and was told that they checked the alarm and everything was in working order. When I got back home I found out..THERE WAS NO ALARM INSTALLED! I went back to Autoworld and they told me they would rectify this situation by installing the alarm and reimbursing me $500 for my troubles and "to ensure customer satisfaction." I then waited 3 hours for the alarm to be installed. I went back to Autoworld and was told by a person named Saverio, who claims he was the general manager, that he wouldnt approve the $500 because it's not his fault the alarm wasn't installed. He then called me a liar and told me that I didnt wait 3 days but that I had just dropped it off yesterday. I have never in my life met someone who claims they are a general manager and who insults his customers. In addition, the salespeople do nothing but smoke cigarettes all day long and they smoke inside they cars they are selling you. I even heard two sales people make a joke about a cigarette burn they had put in one of the cars. Save yourself the hassle, the stress, and the insults. I wish I had dont my research before I went to Autoworld, so I want to make sure no one else has to go through the same ordeal. They are plenty of car dealerships on LI...stay away from AUTOWORLD.

When ever I buy a car. i go on the defensive. I expect them to try to screw me over. it the way the car dealerships operate. You have to be a special person to be car salesmen. If can lie and cheat people without in bothering you. Your the right person to sell cars.

i've read all of the posts and being in the car business for 15 years and having worked at AutoWorld in the past i can say without hesitation that they are as reputable as any other dealer. wanna know why the price you pay is higher then the cash price? BECAUSE YOUR CREDIT SUX! if your credit is bad enough to require you finance with Credit Acceptance then the dealership has to pay thousands of dollars per deal to the bank just to get you approved! normally when you finance $10k the dealership gets a check from the bank for $10k WHEN YOU HAVE HORRIBLE CREDIT the dealership receives only 50-80% of the amount financed and thats why the price gets jacked up! so the moral of the story is be glad your runnin around on "rubber wheels" not "rubber heels" because places like autoworld are willing to put in the effort and money necessary to get you driving!

BUYER BEWARE OF AUTO WORLD! Went to their Repo Sale. Advertized minimum of $4000 trade in no matter what shape it is in and $95 down. After 3 hrs of song and dance from them they wanted to give me $1850 for the trade in and put $2400 down. I walked out and they called my house before I got home and accepted my offer. I went back and they tried to do the paperwork with their numbers. Got the car but gave me a old keyless remote that starts up and opens the car only half the time. Was told they would get me a new key and that was a month ago and they NEVER return your phone calls. Now I have a car that I am afraid to drive anywhere and get stuck or have the car shut off because of a bad chip in the remote while I am driving with my kids. GO ANYWHERE ELSE BUT AUTO WORLD!

Horrible experience! Had a salesman tell me that I got "Jewed down" when selling my old car instead of trading it in. They kept my refundable deposit. They entered a loan amount over $3000 dollars higher with my credit union than what I was paying for the car. Loan was denied and they tried to sell me on using their bank. I had to call my credit union (BFCU) to sort the matter out only to find out that Auto World was not returning BFCU's calls or attempting to remedy the matter.
After purchasing a car from them my wife and I have had issues w/ the car. Getting someone on the phone at AutoWorld has proved almost impossible. Would never do business with them again.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. I bought a 2007 altima from Autoworld 2 weeks ago. 2 days after I got the car I had to replace the sensors in the rear drivers side tire as they were corrupt. The front tire also needed repair from a leaking valve. I CALLED autoworld about the tires and the general manager told me it was too bad and to F"ck myself if I didn't like it. I demanded to speak with the owner at which point "Bob" or whatever his name was told me that he was the only person he'd speak to.. I called Generation Kia around the corner which is the mother company and left 2 messages for the owner and never got any response.
Today I walked to my car only to discover that part of my bumper which they "repaired" is now hanging off my car. I'm so glad I just paid $13K for this car 2 weeks ago. Body work is "not their problem"

Just pass this place right by. I have never been so appalled. NOT to mention the horrendous anti-semetic salesman Jonathan. That is why they have an "F" rating on the BBB>>
