I grew up on Grove Ave, right across the street from where the trail through 40 acres was. I remember hearing stories about the person who hung himself, but that was when I was younger and people didn't really talk about it much.

I know that hanging tree. I hung out there ALL THE TIME. I consider myself a spiritual person and the house I grew up in on Grove was haunted. I spent a lot of time in those woods but I would not say that there is a weird aura out there, not even near or under the tree. Again, I spent many, many days and nights in those woods, sometimes experimenting with hallucinogenics, and I never felt anything like this around that tree.

That's not to say that nothing happened there. Crazy stuff happens and sometimes there isn't historical record.

There are a lot of spooks in Patchogue. There would be a lot less crime, if more of them were hung from trees.

People would rather kill themselves, then spend thousands of dollars a month to live in Patchogue!
It's hell on earth, and the dumb italians who live there are the demons.

It's the only place on the planet where property values decline the closer you get to the water.

The best part about it is the culture that the Hispanics bring.

Zack attack is as right as rain as far as the housing goes. You don't get anything close to what you pay for on LI. Brooklyn or Montauk are nice, but still much too expensive.
Patchogue is a disgusting ghetto with no redeeming value. At least Mastic is by the ocean. I have family in Hawaii and the fact is, it's cheaper to live there than Patchogue. Look it up on craigslist.
Its cheeper cuz its full of crack heads dumbass,, patchogue is without a doubt better and ur ocean is on fire island/smith point not in slumville mastic where all the girls look like trout mouth hookers

It's from all the Micks pissing and puking in the "lake". Just as well; at least that way, when they pass out and fall in, they can't drown.

I like to pay my respects with piss lol. I'm always sure to drink plenty of water before I visit. Hopefully more people from patchogue kill themselves, the world will be a better place.

If I had to live in Patchogue, I think suicide would be a more pleasant option.

I went to the hanging tree in 2014 with my friends. There is many urban legends about the suicides commited there. Some say it was one kid with the initials Bp who hung himself there, and I believed that because at the tree there's a memorial for the boy; BUT after research it sounds like "bp" only had a memorial there because he and his friends frequented the area. Last night when I went my friend told me 30+ people with no relation a long time ago just showed up at the tree and has a mass suicide by hanging themselves on the tree as if they were possessd by spirits. Although there are many urban legends, one thing happened for sure when I went there. After we went to the tree, my friends and I had walked out and were on the sidewalk walking back to our car. As we were walking with out backs turned to the forest, I heard a voice coming from the forest. The voice said "crystallllllllllllllllll l",-- also it sounded identical to my dads voice. As soon as I heard it, I turned to my friend for confirmation that at least someone else had heard it too, and she did. That made me walk faster (as one could imagine). Events such as this one revives my claim that paranormal activity is a real phenomena. On a side note, I feel as if I have a closer relationship with paranormal entities -- or just that it's easier for them to connect with me. I feel this way mainly because I am born on June 21st, the summer solstice at dead time, precisely 3:16 A.M just as my birth certificate says. As many know, dead time Is the witching hour and the most common time for paranormal events to happen.
